Ahh, good old Independence Day... a day we celebrate with fireworks, food, and friends/family. But if you're like me, you may be celebrating another type of independence as well... financial independence. That's right. Now that I am debt free with credit cards, and we bought a house, I am looking forward to saving money this Summer since my spending is under control! So how will I be doing that? Have A Cook Out
Invite friends over and have some burgers on the grill and some ice cold beer! I like to sit on my porch with a glass of wine, friends, and cheeseburgers and chat the night away! If you ask everyone to bring their own drinks and a side dish, the only expense you'll really have is getting burgers! I am using my LG Leon and my awesome data plan to invite everyone on my social media pages and text others to let them know!
Get Outdoors
Enjoy yourself on a hike, or go swimming in a nearby (safe) lake or stream. Use your phone like I do and take lots of photos and videos to document your adventures. It's a great way to preserve memories. Once again, another free activity.
Enjoy Fireworks
There are always fireworks around the 4th of July so make sure you look up the dates and times for your area! It's a great way to get out and enjoy the evening with a great view. Fireworks are always free so it's a great way to enjoy the holiday without spending money.
Gardening
If you are more low key, why not enjoy some gardening and redo some of the parts of your yard. Since we just moved into our house, I am doing lots of gardening. I like taking photos of my progress and putting it on social media! Once again my awesome data plan allows me to do that and I save money every month which I can put towards stuff for the garden!
