There are plenty of glorious things about being a female.  We get to wear stylish clothing, collect handbags and shoes, and we take pride in pretty much everything about our bodies.  Of course, there is always that one week a month that can sometimes be a struggle but that's why I put together a period survival guide which is basically a tutorial or all the things I do to make the most of that week.  What matters to me is that I get the most enjoyment out of everyday of my life so there's no reason I should spend several days each month feeling anything less than fabulous!!

|Stretch|
It's important to keep your body limber and relaxed throughout your period.  Some of us get stressed out and tense up and it doesn't make you feel any better.  So get out a yoga mat and sprawl out and stretch by touching your toes, doing some yoga positions, then stand up and reach for the sky.  Stretching is pretty invigorating so it's an excuse to make yourself feel good.

|Strength Training|
Strength training is a great way to get your sweat on, build muscle, and stay active.   Grab a set of 5 lb. dumbbell weights and do 10 reps bicep curls and repeat 3 times.  I also do squats while holding the dumbbells and even a few lunges.

Keeping your body moving not only benefits you physically but it also helps you mentally.  When I have stressful emotional days on my period, a good workout lets me sweat all that negativity out.

|Proper Diet|
I know, it's hard.  We all have interesting cravings during our period but if you plan out healthy meals that include proteins (meat) and vegetables your body will thank you for the nourishment.

|Enough Sleep|
Make sure you are getting a decent amount of sleep during your period.  Since periods can wipe you out already, you want to make sure you have enough hours of sleep to get you through the week.  You will feel better in the morning if you go to bed at a decent time!

|The Proper Tools|
What you use during your period is super important.  There are a lot of choices but the good news is you can trust Walmart to have everything you need for a great price.  U by Kotex® and Walmart care about what matters most to us when we are on our period.  You want more than just leak protection.  You want something comfortable that allows you to go about your daily routine. I mean seriously, a period is a personal thing and it affects our life each day we have it.

My secret tampon weapon is U by Kotex® Sleek® Tampons because they have an exclusive anti-slip rubbery grip.  It's also got a smooth tip for comfy and easy insertion.  I love the slim design and it still gives me full-sized protection.   I hate having to struggle with a slippery Tampon so the grip is my favorite part!

My other secret weapon is U by Kotex® Cleanwear®  Ultra Thin Pads.  They are soft and comfortable and they stay secure with their Tru-Fit® Wings. They also have a Unique 3D Capture Core® with Xpress DRI® cover for fast absorption and leak protection.

You can find U by Kotex® products at Walmart in the personal care aisle!

And take advantage of this special offer from U by Kotex® and Walmart.  Between 4/15-5/31 if you purchase 2 packs of
U by Kotex® products at Walmart, you can text UbyKotex to 811811 on your phone and upload a photo of your receipt.  Then you go to UbyKotexrewards.com and register to choose your customized reward!

So what matters to you?  Be sure to post on social media with the answer to this question and the hashtag #WhatMattersToU. Also, be sure to take advantage of the special offers I mentioned earlier!

  1. Thanks for sharing your ideas. I always workout when it's that time of the month because I know I feel so much afterwards - my body can always use a good stretch when it's crampy. #client
