Let’s be honest, there’s no real ‘Wedding Season’ - that’s totally all a myth. People are always getting married, and winter weddings are definitely seeing a rise in popularity. Why? Well, they’ll tell you it’s because it’s romantic and their favourite season, but the reality is that it’s a lot cheaper to get married at a time when not many others are.
Frugal weddings are becoming a big trend nowadays, but there are some essentials to your big day to ensure that it’s fun, creative and one that everybody will most definitely remember. So here are The Five Must-Haves to make certain that your special day will keep everybody talking…

You don’t have to spend a lot on your favours, but you do need to make sure that they capture your guests attention. You could keep it classic with sugared almonds, or even present your guests with a lottery ticket (they might let you keep a share of their winnings!). Modern ideas include homemade baked goodies, jams and even plants potted in a mini vase with your guest’s name on … the sky’s the limit, almost anything is a winner!

Be ahead of the trend - get in front of the camera but forget about somebody else telling you how to pose. “Remember that time when I hired a wedding photo booth…” are the only words that you need to utter post-wedding to bring back fun memories. Photo booths are quickly becoming the next big deal, with guests clamouring to get inside to snap an image of their day. It leaves both you and them with something to take away from it - and who doesn’t love a good prop?
Music for the Masses
There’s nothing worse than turning up to the wedding reception and sitting staring at an empty dancefloor as the wrong song plays. You need music that will get everybody up and dancing - think of something that everybody can sing along to (ABBA is always a classic), make sure it has a good beat and you’re pretty much set. The more people dance, the more endorphins are released, meaning everybody is happy!
Food For Thought
If you have guests arriving later on, plus guests during the day, cater for it. Don’t leave them hanging on for food - people genuinely do start to get a bit irritated when they’re hungry, and that is the last thing you want on your wedding day. Think of this for a good rule - meal, snack, meal, snack. That is, have a substantial amount for the two main arrivals of guests, and offer light snacks afterwards for anyone who still may be feeling a bit peckish. They’ll expect it!

A Fabulous Time
At the end of the day, if you’re not having fun, people will pick up on it. You need to relax, let you hair down and remember that all of these guests have come along to celebrate your love. Slight hitches go without a notice, so stop worrying and remember to enjoy yourself - you got this!
