Is Your Man Making You Look Bad? Here's How to Shape Him Up

If you’ve even been out with your man and he’s acting strange, isn’t dressed appropriately or makes you cringe with his horrible jokes, then it’s probably crossed your mind that he’s making you look bad. Not on purpose, of course, but he’s making you look bad regardless and he probably needs to shape up a bit if he wants to be seen in public with you. Thankfully, appearance is something that can easily be improved, and here are a couple of tips on how to make your man look great.

Coordinate his clothing

Not every man cares about fashion, but if your partner is wearing tacky shirts with silly messages and old jeans that are completely worn out, then it’s time to get him down to a local clothes store to help him coordinate his clothing. Get him a smart pair of shoes, shirts that are neutral and don’t scream angsty teenager, and of course, some smart pants that he can be proud of wearing. Will it cost a lot? Most likely. But is it worth it? Absolutely.

Get him on your fitness plan

You don’t need to drag your partner to the gym in order to lose weight. In fact, by making simple changes to his diet, you can help him shed weight off so that the clothes you bought him fit again and he can feel confident about himself. Being overweight can cause some serious issues to both his health and his mood, so give him a hand and help him lose a bit of weight.

Make him trim his beard

Although he might not notice it, other people notice if you don't practice proper beard care and it can be embarrassing when people snicker to each other while pointing fingers at your partner’s untamed beard. Razors make excellent gifts for your partner and with a bit of trial and error, he’ll easily learn how to tame his facial hair so that he can look smart, feel great and make you want to be seen with him.

Help him pick a signature scent

There are thousands of scents available that range from budget buys to expensive luxuries. Visit a store with your partner and try to pick out a scent that you both enjoy. Just remember to use it sparingly and don’t overdo it. Cologne and perfumes should be subtle enough to smell, but not enough to raise questions or even concerns about what someone is doing.

Accepting him for who he is

Lastly, let’s talk about accepting who your man is. Perhaps he doesn’t like to wear fancy suits, maybe he prefers his casual fashion and it’s possible that he has other things on his mind than his outward appearance. There are, of course, times when he could dress smart for an occasion, but keep in mind that you can’t force him to dress or act in a way that he’s not comfortable with. Appreciate him for trying, but ultimately, you should try and learn to accept him for who he is.
