Now that I have my own house I was thinking of starting a garden in the Spring but I have no idea what to do or where to start. Lucky for me a site called DollarSeed exists. Not only can you order specific seeds but you can get kits.   Like a Complete Vegetable Garden Kit!

Each kit comes in a big bag with the contents listed on a page on the front.   Inside each individual bag is labeled with what it is as well.   It's so nice to have all of this together in one bag.

The seeds I got were:
1-Arugula
2-Beans Blue Lake
3-Beans Wax Bush
4-Beets Detroit Dark Red
5-Broccoli Waltham 29
6-Brussels Sprout
7-Cabbage Savoy Perfection
8-Carrot Scarlet Nantes
9-Cauliflower Self Blanche
10-Cucumber Market More 76
11-Kale Vates Blue Scotch Curled
12-Lettuce Gourmet Mix Leaf
13-Onion White Sweet Spanish
14-Pea Early Frosty
15-Pepper California Wonder Sweet
16-Radish Easter Egg Blend
17-Spinach Bloomsdale Long Standing
18-Squash Black Beauty Zuchinni
19-Swiss Chard Fordhook
20-Tomato Beefsteak

Starting my own vegetable garden is going to save me money, time, and energy.  I won't be running out to the store all the time for fresh produce.

Gardening is a great way to take pride in your home, your diet, and your health.  If anyone is thinking of starting a garden I highly recommend DollarSeed but I also would like to ask you guys for any gardening tips you may have for when I start in the Spring?

Oh and one of you will win a starter kit just like I have!

  1. Sum good furesh cow manure makes da bestest furtilizer, specially fur vegetable gardens. But be sure and wear glloves and wash yous hands when you finish. Water early and late in da day and sum vinegar, dawn dish soap and water help keep da bugs at bay. Good luck.

  3. I had a great garden one year, but every year since then I've gotten kind of lazy about weeding and watering so they don't do super well. ;)
