So you may remember back in August I was complaining about our mattress and how it was way too firm and hurting my upper back every morning.  I would wake up stiff and sore and sometimes I couldn’t even fall back to sleep.   That's no way to live.   But if there's one benefit that has come of it, it's that I learned about intelliBED.   So let me start off by explaining what the heck an intelliBED is and why it's important.

You see, a good night's sleep has four aspects to it.

The first is pressure relief. I sleep on my side and have always struggled to find a good mattress without a lot of pressure.  Our hips and shoulders stick out the most so they hold a lot of the weight of our body and we end up tossing and turning all night if we have to deal with pressure points in these spots.  Every time you toss and turn you start over in your sleep stages and you can't get a good restful sleep.  intelliBED mattresses have less pressure points than other mattresses because they have a honeycomb shape that can sense a pressure point and distribute the pressure to the surrounding cells.

Back support is the second aspect of a good night's sleep.   When you are laying down to sleep your weight gets concentrated in one area - your torso.  Gravity tries to pull your torso down which can create an unhealthy sleep posture and just like with your standing or sitting posture, your sleep posture is super imperative to a pain free day and night.  A good sleep surface will align your hips with the rest of the body instead of pulling it down. The hips are very sensitive to pressure which is why Intelli-Gel acts like a spring for support but still provides pressure relief by distributing the weight to other cells.

A third aspect to a good night's sleep is the material your bed is made from.   Off-gassing happens with  many conventional mattresses with toxic chemicals, foam fillers, adhesives, flame retardants, and waterproofing found inside them.   A huge disadvantage to most memory foam based mattresses is the obvious off-gassing smell the first several days.  Mattress toxicity is not a good thing at all which is why intelliBED uses hypoallergenic, nontoxic Intelli-Gel instead of toxic foam or fire retardant treated organic wool.  The Intelli-Gel material is a space age co-polymar made from food-grade materials making this a more natural mattress with less harmful effects.

The fourth a final aspect of a good night's sleep is a durable long-lasting mattress. You wouldn't buy a car that only lasts 3 years would you?   I sure hope not! intelliBED is designed to last 3 times longer than your average bed - even the fancy ones! You're looking at 25 or more years.   That's a smart investment if you ask me. No more worrying about your mattress getting lumpy and uncomfortable within a few years.

This video does an amazing job of explaining everything I just discussed above about intelliBED.

Honestly I have to say that after all my extensive research, intelliBED is the best value for your money, the longest lasting, and the most comfortable bed out there for me!   And for sheets, I highly suggest bamboo sheets.

So to test out that theory I slept on an Intelli-Gel pillow from intelliBED.

These pillows come in two forms - Side Sleeper Regular and Side Sleeper Low Profile. A good pillow should support your head all night long and that's just what the Side Sleeper Regular pillow did for me.   It has a soft and supportive foam core with an adjustable hand-pump air chamber to let me adjust the contour of my pillow by 2 inches.  It's amazing because I can actually adjust the pillow to the ideal angle for ME!   No need to keep adjusting it daily, it stays in the position I want until I end up changing it.

On top of the foam core is a plushy layer of Intelli-Gel Advanced Cushioning Material.  And on top of that is a zippered cotton knit cover.

The intelliPILLOW is great for side sleepers and back sleepers alike! It comes in three options, the side sleeper regular, the side sleeper low profile and the back sleeper. The large image (left) is of the Side Sleeper. The smaller image below is of the Back Sleeper. Notice on the back sleeper the contoured area in the middle for your head and raised sides for support should you roll on to your side. Pick whichever one is right for you!

It's only been a week and I am absolutely in love with how I feel as I fall asleep and when I wake up.   I haven't woken up with pain.

If you are in the market for a new mattress I highly highly HIGHLY recommend you do your research and seriously consider an intelliBED.  One way to see if you want to consider the investment of an intelliBED down the road would be for you to first use a mattress topper.  Not everyone is ready to ditch their current bed so quickly but I'm telling you if you use even the topper you can see what's so amazing about intelliBED.

intelliBED even comes with a 60 day in home trial offer which you can learn more about here. There are also financing options for you to review.

The people at intelliBED were kind enough to extend a discount to all of my followers! Use code: AskAway10 to receive 10% off any products found on intelliBED.com.  And if you buy a queen or larger therapeutic mattress you will receive these bonus items: two intelliPILLOWS and a set of malouf bamboo sheets, which are valued at $600.
