My Wild Week...

Friday, June 29, 2012

So basically my week was filled with cleaning, fishing, and relaxing.  So exciting right?  Earlier in the week I cleaned almost every square inch of my house.  I'm talking, dusting, steam cleaning (5 times in each room), mopping, scrubbing, and even polishing the wooden panels that line the walls!!!  I went crazy in my bedroom and ended up organizing my dresser top where all my makeup is.  And when I say organized I mean everything facing the same direction and everything. Yep, I went cray cray!

I have several makeup organizers so I put those to great use!!

Last night I stopped into Dick's Sporting Goods and I fell in love with this purple Nike shirt.  I have no idea why but I couldn't put it down.  I even looked at the sale rack for something but nothing was there.  I had to have this shirt.  So I put it on last night for a pic, while I used a Merlot Facial Mask on my face.  How creepy do I look?!

All was great last night as I fell asleep, then at 4 am I am awakened by Rocky skittering around my head and neck crying.  He hates thunderstorms and we had a nasty one.  He wouldn't settle down so finally we just had to put him in his cage.  I couldn't stay up any longer since I had to be up at 5:40 for work!

I am extremely exhausted right now and nearly dozed off on the drive in to my office!
I have a half day of work today then probably going fishing.  Tomorrow I have a BBQ at a friend's and then maybe going to a lake on Sunday.  Next week is fun because Rocky gets his stitches out and I have Wednesday off for the 4th of July.

What are your plans?!

Oofos Review & *Giveaway* Ends 7/6

I love my Oofos!! Yes, it is a funny sounding name, but these shoes are AMAZING!  They are so comfortable and I wear them almost everyday!  They are made to absorb energy so it’s much easier on your feet, legs, and body when you wear them.  They are also durable and machine washable.  Also, they look pretty stylish!  It’s easy to wear them everyday and they have some great bright colors to choose from!

I love my pair of Oofos!!  I received a pink thong pair.  Infact, I didn’t have to get my feet used to them because they were THAT comfortable.  I was concerned that the tread would wear down quickly, but it still hasn’t worn down at all! I wear them for errands, hanging outside by the pool, and for doing tasks inside like cooking, cleaning, and getting ready for work in the morning.  They give me great arch support!

One winner will receive a pair of their choice!!

Looky What I Caught!

Thursday, June 28, 2012

Me and my trout!
Well the other day I went fishing in the Yellow Breeches and guess what I caught on my third cast!! A trout! This is huge for me because I've never even seen a trout in real life let alone caught one.  I was so excited!  No one else around us caught anything that day and neither did Johnny so I was quite proud of myself.  It measured 11.5 inches!

So proud of myself!

Fishing is on my Summer Bucket List because I want to do it as often as I can and we have been going to State Parks but had no luck.   It was catch and release so we let him/her go right away after I snapped one last pic!!   We plan to go fishing again Friday!

Summer Bucket List: Horseback Trail Ride

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

So this past weekend, we checked another thing off of our Summer Bucket List.  Riding horses on a trail!  I have taken horseback riding lessons on and off over the years. I took them when I was 6 for a year or so, then again when I was 11 or 12, then again at 16, and then at 19.   I really want to get back into it but it's time consuming and expensive.

One thing I was never able to do was go on a trail ride and my boyfriend has never been on a horse in his life so this was the perfect oppurtunity for us.  We found a stable in Lancaster called Allimax Farm and they offer 1 and 2 hour trail rides.

We arrived there around 1:30 and got a tour of the stable where they introduced all the horses.  There were horses and ponies of all different shapes and sizes.  The cool thing was that each one has a personality that is so unique.  Then it was time to watch a safety video, and finally we got to go out to the ring to get our assigned horse.  There were 4 horses.  One was this huge white Percheron named Bert.  He was enormous but the best behaved and they said he is great with beginners.

Bert (Taken from Allimax Farm website)
The next one was Oreo.  He apparently is testy with certain other horses and he kicks if you get to close behind him on your horse so they normally have him in front of Bert because Bert is so tall that it doesn't matter if he gets kicked at.

Me and Oreo after our ride
Then there was Harley, which is the horse Johnny got.  Harley was beautiful and great for riding.  Of course Harley and Oreo don't get along, Duh!

Johnny and Harley after our ride
Well as we all get on our horses the other people on the ride with us decided to ride behind each other which left Johnny and his horse behind me and Oreo.  Of course!! It was okay though because I controlled Oreo just fine. The trail ride was about an hour along.  We went through a corn field or two, over a little bridge, up some steeper rocks and hills, and along streams.  It was beautiful and the horses were so well behaved.

The whole drive home Johnny kept talking about how much fun he had and how much he missed Harley and we both decided we want to try trail riding at other stables in the area!  Can't wait for our next one.  It was a great experience!  And if you live in PA, I highly recommend checking it out at Allimax Farm!

Another Great Weekend

Thursday, June 21, 2012

This weekend was pretty great for me.  The weather has been beautiful so I took a half day Friday and floated around in the pool!  Friday night was spent cleaning and watching movies with my boyfriend.  I swear I have seen like every single movie known to mankind!!

Saturday me and the bf headed to City Island in Harrisburg to walk around, take pictures (which I hope to have soon) and see a minor league baseball game of the Harrisburg Senators vs. Trenton Thunder.  The weather was great.  It was pretty hot but there was a lot of shade so it wasn't too bad.  Mini golf was super fun and the baseball game was a blast!  Of course the Senators lost, because everytime I go anywhere, the team I am seeing always loses, but it was still fun.  Saturday night we took so photos of me in some fancy shmancy stuff that I can hopefully have up here soon!

Oh yea I saw a ton of striped shirts on Saturday too!  Like at one point I was the only person wearing a solid colored shirt!!

Sunday for Father's Day we dropped by my parents' house to go fishing in the creek in the backyard. I caught nothing!  My boyfriend caught.. A LOT!   Oh well, better luck next time right?
Now I am suuuuper excited for horseback riding this weekend!

The Golden Rule of Wearing Shorts

Never ever ever wear shorts THIS short...

Just don't.  Unless you have leggings underneath, this is a huge fashion faux pas!! It's sad because the whole outfit has the possibility to be cute, but not for shopping. I'm not fond of the belly shirt.  The boots are cute but not with the cheeks hangin' out!!!!! Oh well, maybe she's just distracted with her engagement!

University of Alabama Store

University of Alabama shirts are a great way to express school spirit. Even if you aren't looking for clothes, they offer kids items, holiday items and home/office goods.  This is a great place to go to stock up on Christmas gifts or even Birthday gifts.

Need loungewear? There's a huge selection of hoodies and sweats that are perfect for relaxing around your home.  There are also some cool keychains to help show off your team pride! And if you go tailgating you'll love their festive selection of foam hands, koozies, and shakers!

I especially love their fashionable houndstooth collection where they have houndstooth hats, pillows, headbands, and much much more.  Houndstooth is very in right now so what better way to celebrate pride for your team or school AND your love for fashion! They even have houndstooth cufflinks.  That's a great gift for someone! And it's very unique.

For kids, you have a wide variety of stuffed toys to choose from that are bound to bring a smile to their face! And next time you attend any kind of sporting event, bring your Bama blanket along to keep you warm and use as a cushion in the bleachers! Love the selection!!

Summer Skin Tips

Wednesday, June 20, 2012

It’s summer and that means that acne breakouts are more prevalent.  Too often, we don’t clean our face after a sweaty moment outdoors.  Also, we tend to come home late after a party or an outdoor festivity, and we go right to bed without properly cleaning our faces!   The summer heat and exposure to UV rays takes a harsh toll on your skin, which is why it’s a good idea to use a product like Resurgence to help keep your skin healthy and prevent wrinkles and aging.
Now is a great time to stock up on facial skincare products and here are some great Murad coupon codes  Make sure you get a product that will cleanse your skin and remove impurities.  You also need something to fight already existing breakouts and help remove them from your skin.  And don’t ever forget a moisturizer because drying your face out too much can cause just as many problems as having oily skin!

Don’t ever neglect your face.  It’s important to wash it at least twice a day, especially in the morning, and before bed.  Wear sunblock when you are outside and wear UV proctecting makeup.  Make sure to remove your make up every night before bed.

Adorable Initial Jewelry

If there's one thing I love it's customized jewelry with a name or initials on it!  And Pictures on Gold has some cute Initial Jewelry!  I love initial jewelry because it's so classy and can be worn all the time.  It's something personal, without being tacky. What do you think about initial jewelry?

What's Been Goin on Lately...

Monday, June 18, 2012

Well it's been beautiful out so I've been poolin' it up with the pups!!   So funny when they swim.  They want nothing more than to get the heck outta the pool.  I love putting them on a raft and laying next to them.  I got a heck of a sun burn this weekend, ugh!

Poor Rockman.... he had his manhood removed...and his teeth cleaned...and some taken out...and a shot..oh and a bump (cyst) on his head removed.  So this was him on the way to the vet's this am...

and this is him now...

Poor guy! I coulda cried when I saw his stitches!  He seems okay but is sore and I had to get one of those silly puffy collars for him so he can't lick his.. well, you know what.

$476 dollars later....he's still my little man and I love him to pieces!
Us at the Senators Game

Oh..we went to a baseball game and took some photos on City Island in Harrisburg on Saturday... I'll have a post about that up in the next few days.

Soooo...how was your weekend???   And what are you up to next weekend??  I am going to scratch another thing off my bucket list this Summer on Saturday... horseback trail riding! YAY!!

GlassesUSA...because Glasses are a Great Fashion Accessory

I don't care what anyone says...glasses will always be a great fashion accessory even if you don't need them.  Eyeglasses are sometimes necessary for those of us that don't hvae 20/20 vision but that doesn't mean you have to be stuck with a boring frame that makes you feel nerdy or anything other than glamorous.   Sometimes choosing a pair of glasses can be tiring and no one wants to go to a boring visioncare center.  That's why it's great that GlassesUSA.com offers a huge selection of glasses online so you can shop from the comfort of your own home. All you need is your eyeglasses prescription and the rest can be done on their website. They have a 110% lowest price gurantee and a 100% satisfaction gurantee.

Another cool thing about GlassesUSA is the Virtual Mirror Feature!

I have wanted one of these for years and years.  You can upload your own picture and see how you look in different frames.  This is brilliant.  It's a great way to ensure you can select the frames you will like and that look good on you without having to worry about returning them later.   I wish every online shopping website had this feature!

You can use the code Blog10 to take 10% off any pair of prescription glasses.

You can use the code FS15 to take 15% off and free shipping on your entire order over $50.

PetAutoSafety.com Review

Friday, June 15, 2012

PetAutoSafety.com is a great place to go to purchase products that will help protect your pups and keep them safe while travelling.  With 4 Chihuahuas, safety is important as well as space saving and convenience.  That’s why I love the Large Roll Around Pet Carrier I received.

It’s perfect for Pixie and Stella and the best part is, it’s so much easier to get them to the car.  Rather than have a tangled handful of leashes or an armful of dogs, I can calmly carry my purse, while rolling the carrier behind me.  That leaves two dogs on a leash in my hands and much less stress for me.  This was super easy to unfold and it rolls so easily.  It went over bumps and through grass with no problems.  The dogs didn’t seem to mind it at all and once in the car they were asleep in no time.  It fits amazingly in the car and it isn’t hard to list at all!

Now through July 31st use the code: askawaypet to get 25% off a roll around pet carrier!
And now through forever use the code: petsafeblogger to get 10% off all products except the Breeze Guard window screens! *These codes can’t be combined and there is a limit of no more than two per customer!

Kat Martucci Designs Review

Thursday, June 14, 2012

Kat Martucci Designs specializes in custom name jewelry and let me tell you, I have seen a lot of name jewelry in my life and Kat Martucci has the most elegant and gorgeous jewelry of all!

I received a cursive name necklace. I  love it. It’s so elegant!!! I can wear it with pretty much anything.  It’s very dainty but yet it doesn’t bend so I know it won’t break.  I love the high quality chain and the clasp.  It’s very well put together, and once again, I know it won’t break.

A custom name necklace is a great gift for someone close to you and it’s also a great way to express yourself!

Stay Fashionable At School

Tuesday, June 12, 2012

Many of us know of some people who will be starting college at the end of the summer.  Make sure they stay fashionable when they are there, even if it'sjust with university apparel such as Alabama Apparel!  Whether you are lounging around your dorm room, or hanging out on campus, there are plenty of University of Alabama shirts for you and your friends to enjoy!

School pride is one way of expressing yourself through fashion by sporting team colors, phases, logos, etc.  It can help build up your sense of pride for what you are doing and where you are going in your life.  Plus, you can wear your apparel even when you are just lounging around!  Pep rallys and sports events are another place to rock your school gear and team colors.  Plus, it's fun to hang out after the game with everyone in the same type of gear!

I never went to college, but I always thought it would have been fun to be a part of a team and a union and be ableto wear clothing that represented that.  Don't ever be afraid to express your pride especially through fashion! And if you don't go to college, just represent a school you like, a school a friend goes to, or a sports team you love!

Summer Bucket List: Fishing!

Monday, June 11, 2012

I have fished before but not in a while and wanted to do it again.  On Friday, Johnny and I got our licenses at Walmart and stocked up on lures and rods.  We set out Saturday morning and ended up in my parents backyard which lies along the Conodoguinet Creek.

Well my boyfriend caught 9 fish including some small bass, fall fish, and I think a Pumpkin seed fish.  I caught...one...yep, just one.  But that's okay, it was too hot in the day.  Earlier in the morning and later in the afternoon/early evening is the best time to fish.

My dad was happy to see us though and he also came out and fished. Then the guys got in the creek with wading boots on and had a blast!  It was so darn hot on Saturday and Sunday was even worse!! So of course we got in our pool on Sunday. I got a nice tan and I even took Pixie in with us!! She had a blast for the most part!

Sunday we finished up with dinner at our friend's house and then a relaxing quiet evening at home.  I am super excited for next weekend because we have mini golf on City Island and  a Senator's baseball game!!

What did YOU do this weekend?

Picky Bars Review

Picky Bars are allergy sensitive nutritional bars designed by athletes to help fulfill your cravings while giving you energy and nutrition.  They come in all different flavors and they are dairy free for those of you with sensitivities.

I received a few samples of Picky Bars and I will tell you that they were perfect for my afternoon snack.  I eat right before I leave work so that I have energy for when I get home to work out.  These were perfect. They hit the spot and although they are small, they were filling.  I really liked the almond and smooth caffeinator because they really tasted good and seemed to give me the most energy.  They were very easy to eat and consume and they didn’t get stuck in my teeth.  They also didn’t dry my mouth out which is a common problem with energy or nutritional bars that I have tried in the past!

These are so good and so helpful for anyone that is working on their fitness and diet!

Turqoise Bags in Summer

For some reason, turquoise bags like the Melie Bianco Anny Bag from Silvia's Handbags just look so great in the summer.  I guess it's the light color and the bright look that make it go great with almost every outfit in all types of situations! I love the convenient size and the outter pockets which are great for a camera and a phone to catch summer time fun!

DA Active Review

Sunday, June 10, 2012

DA Active is a great place to go when you need comfortable and fashionable workout gear.  You can’t give your workout your all if you don’t feel comfortable about yourself and feel able to move and do the exercises, right?  DA Active offers some very fashionable and high quality clothes for working out and running that allow you to move, offer you the proper support, and let you look good while wearing them.

I received a pair of Do It Again Capris in Black and Green, as well as a Sports Bra and a Green Marle Hoodie in Green.  First of all, can I just say I love how coordinated and matching this entire outfit is!  This gives me even more motivation to show it off when I work out and run.  So let me tell you, when I look good I feel good and I workout even better.   The capris were very breathable and allowed me to move around enough to do all of my exercises in my routines.  They didn’t make me sweaty and clammy on my legs which is a problem with certain fabrics in workout pants.  Especially in the summer, you always want to let your body remain as cool as possible so you can give your workout your all.

The sports bra was very easy to get on and off and gave me the proper support I needed.  It didn’t constrict me or restrain me at all and allowed me to move around when I was active.  The padding was just right and this bra was also easy to wash.  It’s my new favorite work out bra especially when I run because I’m not flipping and flopping all over the place!!

And the Hoodie is my favorite!!  It was so comfortable.  I love how bright it is for when I am outdoors running in bad weather or closer to dusk.   It looks great even if I don’t wear it for working out and I just keep it on around the house.   I love green so this is a huge thing for me!

Beyond Bedding Review

Thursday, June 7, 2012

Beyond Bedding is a great place to shop for gorgeous bedding sets especially Kids bedding sets.   They have a variety of designs and colors and themes and I love that you can choose from more than just a couple different styles!

I received a set from the teen bedding category. Although I would have loved any pink bedding   I chose this Turquoise and BrownBedding Set  to make my boyfriend happy!  I figured the colors were more gender neutral.  This 3 piece set is gorgeous and I love the damask print.  It looks great in my bedroom!  It’s made of 100% cotton and is so so soft.  The set included 2 standard pillow shams and an 86x86 full queen comforter.  I love the shams! They are great for decorative pillows and I honestly love the high quality of this comforter.

I get very hot and cold depending on the weather and this was actually perfect.  It didn’t make me too hot or too cold at night.  I can use this set year round which is great!  I am going to be purchasing all of my bedding from Beyond Bedding in the future!!

Summer Bucket List: Lake Tobias Wildlife Park

So this summer, in an effort to save money, my boyfriend and I decided to take day trips as often as we can and see things locally or atleast within PA.  This way we save money but still get to see cool stuff and experience awesome things.  So we made a bucket list of things we want to do and places we want to go.  Some of those things are:
Phillies Game
Senators Game
Mini Golf
Grand Canyon of PA
Indian Echo Caverns
Penns Cave
Hersheypark (He's never been there as he's not from PA originally)
And lots more.
Me touching a Watoosie I think!

This weekend:
Lake Tobias Wildlife Park.  Lake Tobias Wildlife Park was started many many years ago by a man named JR Tobias.  He passed away in 1996 and his wife and their 7 kids and 1 grandkid run the park now.  Actually his wife lives in the park.  Her house was there and it was awesome that she was right in the middle of everything!  Can you imagine waking up in the morning and going for a stroll in your huge wildlife sanctuary containing all sorts of exotic animals including lions, tigers, AND bears!!??  That is like my dream come true. Honestly!

We woke up at 8am, showered, and got ready to leave.  It is in Halifax, PA which is only about an hour drive from where we live.  Since it opened at 10am we were some of the first people there which was awesome.  We started our day with the wildlife safari tour which is a bus ride through the park where you can actually reach out and touch certain animals.  They come right up, probably because they know food will be thrown out for them.  It was very educational.  We saw a bunch of herd animals like Bison, Buffalo, Watoosie, and even Emu and Rhea!!   I was super stoked because I got to touch a bunch of the cattle and they were very sweet.  It was really entertaining too when they tried to get into the bus with us!

We shared a moment!

After our safari tour we began to go through the walk about zoo.  We saw monkeys, and exotic birds, lions, tigers, bears, zebra, and some other crazy creatures!  I was obsessed with the lions! Lions are my favorite animals ever!!  I also loved the zebra because they let me pet them!!

The camels were awesome as well and we went through a little petting zoo. The poor animals seemed so lazy, fat, and stuffed from being fed, lol.  Then there was a reptile house and that was totally cool I even got to touch an alligator!!

After about 3 1/2 hours we headed home.  Since we live by the Appalachian Trail we decided to walk it for about a mile so we did and it was super fun then Saturday night we went to see Snow White and the Huntsmen.  Great movie!!!

Loved this weekend and it was just the start of many great ones!!
