So I Have A Garden Now...

Wednesday, April 20, 2016

Yea who woulda thunk it?  It all started when I wanted a pepper plant or two because I got tired of buying the overpriced peppers from the store.   But somehow we spiraled from that into me buying a mini greenhouse and some grow lights (SHUTUP).  Then I decided it'd be nice to stop buying lettuce from the store because it's overpriced and goes bad too quickly if you don't use it right away.
So I planted some lettuce seeds in Jiffy pots and waited.

I swear it was like I had just created a baby or something. I woke up the one morning to find that green stuff had sprouted and I had this insane sense of pride.   And then it just went on from there.  I originally planned to do everything in containers.... but then this happened....

This is just the boxes but they will have dirt in them obviously so don't tell me I need to do that..I know! haha I am going to have yukon potatoes, onions, cucumbers, zucchini, lettuce, peppers, and who knows what else.  So why am I telling you this?

Because I know some of you love gardening so any advice is very much welcome!!!!!

Identifying What YOUR Hair Needs | A Step-by-Step Guide

This site has affiliate links and sponsored content. Read my Disclosure Policy.

So I looooove my hair but it can be really high maintenance most of the time.   And when I talk to other women, they say the exact same thing.  it seems that no matter who you are or where you live, your hair can have different needs than the person next to you.

The best time to take care of your hair is in the shower.  After all, you're cleaning the rest of your body and hopefully using products that nourish it, so why would your hair be any different?

So today, I'm walking you through the different needs that your hair my have and which product you can use for it using VO5.

1|Frizzy Hair
Sometimes it's the humidity that makes our hair go haywire or sometimes it's just because we are trying to tame the natural waves and curls that sprout from our scalp. Whatever the reason, frizz is every girl's nightmare.  So VO5 designed a set of Anti-Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner to smooth hair.  It contains Argan Oil and works to contain your hair so it has a nice sleek look.

2| Flat Hair
Flat hair is such a struggle.  Some people just have super straight and flat hair naturally and others have it (like me) because they have fine hair.  VO5's Volumizer Shampoo and Conditioner contains Biotin and helps your hair look fuller without weighing it down.

3| Damaged Hair
Split ends and breakage plague almost everybody these days.  It can be from all the heat you use when styling your hair and straightening it, or just from coloring your hair on a regular basis.  VO5's Split Ends Shampoo and Conditioner helps to reduce damage and contains Panthenol.  It's the perfect thing to add to your routine for delicate hair.

4| Dry Scalp
Whether it's an itchy scalp because of the Winter cold or it's just dry skin because you wash your hair a lot, VO5's Dry Scalp Shampoo and Conditioner with Argan Oil relieves dryness and adds moisture so you don't have to worry about scratching your head all day.

Which of these 4 products meets YOUR needs?

Chewy 30 Day Challenge [Update]

This month I'm participating in the Chewy 30 Day Challenge where I will be feeding my dogs Dr. Tim's Dog Food and blogging about it.  I have chosen Dr. Tim's Kinesis All Life Stages Food. It's been about 2 weeks since I started feeding this to my pups and I am very pleased with what I see.

Great energy levels on all 4 pups and they don't seem to be starving all the time which means this food is very nutrionally dense, which is a VERY good thing.   Their poops aren't as stinky (sorry for the TMI) and they are only going twice a day - once in the AM and once in the PM.

They have no problem consuming this food even with their tiny mouths.  There haven't been any choking issues even though Pixie is known to scarf her food down so fast that she inhales it without chewing, and no one has had an upset tummy which is great news for me (and them!).

I am really impressed with Dr. Tim's so far and I can't wait to see what the next 2 weeks bring so be sure to check back!

Bullets Making A Fashion Statement

Tuesday, April 12, 2016

I love fashion trends that make a statement and stand out from what everyone else wears so when I got the chance to work with Little Black Gun, I was excited.  Little Black Gun offers a line of earrings that are made from bullet casings that have actually been fired from a gun.  Their earrings are handmade out of nickel plated casings and the earrings themselves have surgical stainless steel backs and Swarovski Crystals.

There are plenty of colors to choose from like blue, green, pink, and grey and all of their earrings come in two different cuts - regular and thin cut.

These earrings give any look a little bit of edge and at first glance they almost look like small gauges.  I love that whenever people see me wearing these earrings they ask me what they are  and where they are from.    I of course had to choose the pink because they have an adorable feminine look regardless of what I'm wearing.

I also love wearing these earrings because they remind me that I'm in a way, recycling something that most people just let sit on the ground.  I like to know that I'm helping the environment even if it's just one ear at a time!

Definitely check out Little Black Gun for all your edgy earring needs!
