Outfit of the Day: Busy Dress

Wednesday, August 16, 2017

The weather has been so muggy lately which makes me want to wear as little fabric as possible. I feel in love with this dress from Ross Dress for Less. It was less than $20 and it fits perfectly. I think the pattern is so pretty and because it's busy and has a lot going on it helps hide my stomach pooch and any other flaws. It was so comfy and really kept me cool!

Oh and because I'm completely incapable of doing anything with my hair (even a french braid) I just took two strands of hair and kept twisting them and picked up hair along the way. I guess that's a french twist? Anyway, I tied it back and tucked it behind my ear and it helps keep the frizzies out of my face.

Garden Update [August]

Tuesday, August 15, 2017

August has had fairly cooler weather which is a surprise but it seems to have helped my veggies.  So here is my eggplant.   Already have some fruit forming!

My banana peppers are doing great as well I get about 15 a week between all of my plants!

 Yes! That's a butternut squash! I have a few!

My bell peppers also are doing great, I think because it hasn't been terriby hazy hot and humid at all this month yet. I've read that intense heat like we normally have can make them pause their growth for a bit.

 More Banana Peppers!
So I'm an idiot and I accidentally cut off the top of my one tomato plant a long time ago.  But I still get some tomatoes from it. The one on the right is Roma Tomatoes.   They've been coming in nicely.
I replanted some Kale and Caesar in the small garden bed so I can have some fall salads!

How are your gardens doing? Any tips for mine? I think I had cucumber beetles on my zucchini plants and they haven't been producing any more fruit the past few days. :(

Outfit of the Day: Casual Dress

Monday, August 14, 2017

The last time I wore this dress I had it dressed up with some wedge heels.   But today I wanted a more casual look.

This Julia dress from LuLaRoe looks so awesome with my Keds from DSW. It's still a work appropriate look for dressy casual situations and it's so comfortable!

Outfit of the Day: Chic Black & White

Friday, August 11, 2017

I really have no other way to describe this look except to say it looks so chic.  It's just a simple The Mogan White T with a LuLaRoe maxi skirt.  The black and white print helps keep it simple.

I don't even know what to call the pattern or design on this skirt but I do have leggings in the same pattern and I freakin' love them!

My Outdoor Living Essentials

If you've been reading this blog for at least a few months, you certainly have seen how much I adore our screened in porch and backyard.  We've been in our home for over 2 years now and it's still the part of our home that we use the most.   The screened in porch is perfect because it is outdoors, but it is screened enough to keep the majority of insects and pests outside.  We eventually will be putting in a patio as well so that will give us even more outdoor living space!

Outfit of the Day: Black and White and Lace All Over

Wednesday, August 9, 2017

I just adore this Peter Som for Kohl's dress, mainly because it's lightweight and flowy and has lace near the bottom that REALLY lets the air in.   Plus, the black and white stripes pattern is so unique because of how it's all pieced together.

I have had this dress for a few years and still love it so much!  I actually got it at a Peter Som for Kohl's blogger event where I actually got to meet him! He was so charming in person, and you can read about the event and my recap in this post.
