Now before you get excited thinking that I did all kinds of things to this room - sorry,  but that's not the case.  I actually just added one piece of furniture.   The thing about this one piece however is that it can act as 3 different pieces in 3 different ways!  A few weeks back I introduced you to the  Castro Convertibles Ottoman and the different ways it can be used in your home.  This ottoman is great for a small room, small house, dorm, or apartment.  It doesn't take up much space and it's so easy to convert that it won't take up too much time.  So today, I'm going to show you first hand what the Castro Convertibles Ottoman did in MY HOME.

As you know, we just got our house this Summer and it has 3 bedrooms.   In the house tour I explained how we use the 3rd bedroom as an office. We do have a guest bedroom but sometimes you may have multiple guests over or if you are like me, you use the 2nd bedroomas your closet so you don't always want someone in there when they stay over because you want to get in and get to your wardrobe.  That's why the possibility of another guest room was enticing but I didn't think it would be possible since there was no way a full size bed could fit in the Office without taking away from it.  But I was wrong.  So here is how the Castro Convertibles Ottoman helped update our 3rd bedroom!

|1| A Reading Nook

Sometimes you just want to get away and have some peace and quiet so when the ottoman is not being used for anything else it's simply just an ottoman.  I keep a basket nearby with books in it and it's nice to just sit in the corner and relax and read.   It's beautiful and goes with the color scheme of our house.  The wheels lock into place so it doesn't slide around.

|2| A Chaise
So say our guests come over and we want them to stay the night.  But they aren't ready to sleep yet.  The Castro Convertibles Ottoman folds out in a few easy steps to become a Chaise and then a bed!

First things first - You remove the slipcover and move the ottoman into the right place you want it to expand in.  I moved ours out of the corner slightly.

Next you take the wheel lock off.

You literally just pick up the end of the ottoman and walk backwards a few steps as you pull up and out. And VOILA!

The top part of the bed can actually raise up slightly so you can sit and read or have a guest relax a bit.

This was amazingly comfortable and is nice when a guest first comes into town and wants to rest but not actually fall asleep.  It's also fun for me to use when I'm not feeling well and I just want to be alone and read or relax. You can totally put a sheet over it when it's a chaise butI left it open so you can see everything so you know how it works.

|3| A Bed

And now it's time for your guests to hit the hay, so you just lay the back part down and your mattress is ready to use.  I threw some bedsheets on it real quick.  How nice does that look!? The Castro Convertible Ottoman folds out to a 5 inch thick Castropedic mattress. There is a lot of support because it's constructed with a wooden slat design and the locking castors once again keep you safe.  The Castro Convertibles Ottoman comes in 2 sizes - 33" wide for a single bed or 39" wide for a twin bed.  I have the twin bed size.  If you want to use it in a different room you can slide the ottoman on it's wheels into another room and then set it up.

And then to fold it back up you remove the sheets and pick up the end of the bed and walk forward with it. It folds back down and you push firmly till you hear it click back in place.

Then you throw the slipcover back  on and VOILA!  It's like the bed never existed!

The 33" Ottoman is priced at $699 and the 39" at $799 and both ship free in the continental United States.

So tell me - would this solve any current issue with space and having guests over in your home?

Castro Convertibles Ottoman | A 3-in-1 Addition For the Home

Wednesday, August 12, 2015

I've always been a HUGE fan of anything that serves more than one purpose, especially when it comes to items in the home.  So I am so thrilled to tell you all about a piece of furniture that serves 3 purposes: décor, a bed, and a storage solution.

It's from Castro Convertibles, a family furniture company from New York that has re-launched with a new, innovative convertible ottoman which is ideal for contemporary living.     So let's look at the 3 ways this beautiful ottoman can be used.

|1| A Decorative Ottoman
Whether you want to use the Castro Convertible Ottoman as a coffee table in your living room, or even a chaise lounge for when you want to relax a little more, or an extra seat if you have a full house, it looks great!  This is ideal for small spaces like dorm rooms, apartments, bedrooms, and living rooms.  It even comes with a removable slipcover which helps dress it up for your own home.

|2| A Bed
The age old problem of having guests and not enough beds is now SOLVED! The Castro Convertible Ottoman folds out and offers a luxurious five-inch thick Castropedic mattress.  This ottoman is also constructed with a wooden slat design so it's sturdy and offers locking castors for a smooth and safe experience.  The Castro Convertible Ottoman comes in 2 sizes - 33" wide for a single bed or 39" wide for a twin bed.    The best part is, you can use it in whatever room you want! It's also ideal for someone that has trouble (possibly after a surgical procedure) with stairs and needs to sleep on the first floor of their home.  Even if your guests decide last minute that they want to stay over, you can easily and quickly convert the ottoman into a bed.

|3| A Storage Piece
When not in use, you can basically forget you even have an extra bed for guests because the bed folds right back up into an ottoman.  That means it's easy clean up and you can put your home back to normal.  No more worrying about inflating or deflating air mattresses, or setting up bulky cots that you have to store away downstairs.  No more worrying about having to find space to store an extra mattress - it's right there!

The 33" Ottoman is priced at $699 and the 39" at $799 and both ship free in the continental United States.

What way would you use this in the most?
