How To Build You Body Confidence

Thursday, January 23, 2020

In our image-obsessed world, there are hundreds and thousands of images of airbrushed models and celebrities that give people unrealistic aims for how they want their body to look, and how they think it should look. There are many celebrities now taking a stand and showing what their photos looked like before they were airbrushed so everyone can see the difference. However, now that it has had its impact, people need to work hard to feel confident in their bodies. It is not necessary to change how you look physically, but you can if you want to, it is about changing how people perceive themselves mentally and making sure that you prioritize your own self-care.

Stop comparing yourself to others

This is easier said than done, but you need to stop comparing your body to images you see or to those around you. Everybody’s body is different, and even if you think that someone has the perfect body, you can guarantee that if you asked them, there would be something that they would want to change. Nobody thinks they are perfect, but there is no need to be perfect in life. It is better to be happy and healthy and do things that you love.

It can be useful to unfollow people on social media that you feel are influencing how you feel about your body so that you are exposed to fewer images to compare yourself to.

It would help if you also thought about how you are speaking to yourself and start treating yourself as your own best friend. If you wouldn’t say the negative thing to your friend, then do not say it to yourself. Try to start focusing on the bits you love about your body and complimenting yourself. Before you know it, it will feel like second nature!

Find clothing that suits you

Having clothing that you feel comfortable in, and that suits your body type can make all the difference in the world to your confidence. If there is a style of dress that you love wearing, buy multiple dresses in the same style in different colours and prints. You don’t have to worry and looking completely different every day. Just worry about wearing things that make you feel great. Don’t think that being fashionable and stylish means that you have to take a risk because you don’t.

Make attainable goals

If you do want to get into shape, make sure you are doing it for the right reasons and that you are making reasonable, achievable goals. You could decide that you want to get more active so that you are using your body and pushing it to do things that you didn’t think it could do.

Eating a healthy diet can make you feel better about yourself as it can do wonders for your physical and mental health and will ensure that you are getting all the vitamins and minerals that you need.

If you decide that you want a quick fix, you could have fat removal with lasers which is a non-invasive way of getting rid of some of the fat that makes you feel uncomfortable.
