Spring is creeping in and that means it’s time to do some annual/seasonal cleaning tasks to ensure your home is tidy and clean for the next few months, especially since most of us spend time outdoors and neglect our indoor cleaning tasks. Here’s some of the tasks I do every Spring.
Dust High
I will use a step ladder to reach every nook and cranny at the top of every room. I remove trinkets and décor from shelves to dust and wipe them down. Ceiling fans and any hanging light fixtures get dusted and wiped down at this time too.
Wipe Walls
I go through the house and will actually wash the walls and the baseboards. This is actually fun because I’m always shocked at how much dirt comes off of them.
Purge Kitchen Cabinets and Fridge
I go through and remove everything, toss anything expired, wipe the cupboards in and out, and then put things back in a very organized fashion. I also do this with the fridge and freezer so I don’t go into the next season with excess stuff that went bad. It also helps me see what all I have so I can throw together some good meals when I menu plan.
Vacuum Under EVERYTHING
I move furniture all over the place and will make sure to get all of those little hidden dust bunnies that we don’t see but we know are there.
Wash and Clean Windows
I clean the actual window glass inside and out but I also wipe and vacuum the window frame since dirt collects there often.
Wash Floors
I do this throughout the year but I do this REALLY hardcore each season where I will move the furniture and wash the floor underneath since I just did a deep vacuum to it.
Weed Garden Beds
I always weed my garden beds so that I can go into the planting season with clean beds and I can see all the space I have to plant things.
These are just some of the things I do every Spring. Which tasks are you going to add to your to do list this Spring?
