Declutter

One thing you can do to start off the spring clean is sort out your home and get rid of some clutter. Many people fear a decluttering session, however, they are easier than you might think. All you need to do is tackle it one room at a time, rather than viewing it as one large project or chore. Head to each individual room and sort your items in four piles, these should consist of the things you wish to keep, sell, donate, and throw away. It is always a nice idea to donate your unwanted items as you never know who may be in need of them.

Refresh The Walls

Now, how are your walls looking lately? If they haven’t been updated in a couple of years then it may be time to provide them with a fresh coat of paint. This can be relatively simple, especially if you are painting over them the same color. However, if you are choosing a different colour then do consider color psychology before you dive in. The last thing you want is to feel angry when you come home as you painted your hallway bright red. It might be that you don’t have the necessary skills to do this task yourself, if that is the case then contact your local painter to decorator.

Deep Clean

Once you have decluttered and painted, it is time to deep clean. This doesn’t just mean wipe the surfaces down, it means get into every nook and cranny of the house. A proper spring clean will leave your home feeling brand new. If it helps you, make a list of all the places and areas that need to be cleaned and tick them off one after the other. Alternatively, if you don’t have the time or energy to do the cleaning then you can always hire a cleaning company to come in and do it for you.

Head To The Garden

Finally, how is your garden looking after winter? The answer might not be great, so it is certainly in need of some TLC. You may find that your grass and weeds have become unruly, so head out there and get some groundwork done. You need to have an idea of what you want the final project to look like, if you have this then you can’t really go wrong. There may be some trees that are in your way and you want to get rid of them, if so, contact a local licensed arborist services to see what they can do for you.

We do hope you found this article helpful and it gave you some ideas on how you can get your home in the best possible condition. Not just for spring, but forever.
