Protecting My Precious MacBook

Wednesday, October 19, 2016

This site has affiliate links and sponsored content. Read my Disclosure Policy.

My MacBook does a lot for me and I consider it a major investment so it's only natural that I'd want to protect it and properly care for it.  Today's post is about how I (and how you can) protect my laptop on an everyday basis!

(1) Keyboard Cover
This is essential for me because I have tendency to either spill liquids all over or lay in bed on my laptop with the dogs, thus getting their fur all over and inside everything.  A keyboard cover gives me an extra buffer so stuff doesn't get inside the computer via the keyboard.

(2) A Case
There are hard cases all over the internet that you can get for any type of laptop.  These are so important because it's protection against any scratches, dings, or dents.  Plus there are so many fashionable designs to choose from!

(3) A Sturdy Bag
So this is the single most important thing for me because when I travel or bring my laptop anywhere I need it to be safe and protected along the way.  So that's why I use the STM Swift Laptop Brief.

I can not get over the sleek design of this bag.  It's so lightweight on it's own!   It has plenty of padding inside to protect my laptop and any other devices.  It even has water resistant fabric and internal pockets for chargers and other accessories.  The Sling-Tech system is awesome.  It's got a padded sling that protects your devices from the bag's floor and the bottom corners are wrapped in a special padding for extra protection.

The external pocket is great for small items that you are carrying along. It really has such a minimalistic design which is what I love most about any kind of bag.

So there you have it - 3 simple steps, 3 great investments, all to keep my life going smooth. The last thing I want is to have to run out and buy a new laptop or other device right before a deadline.

What do you do to protect your devices?

2 of the Best Life Hacks in Your Car

Wednesday, March 30, 2016

This site has affiliate links and sponsored content. Read my Disclosure Policy.

So if you are anything like me, you deal with a nearly dead battery with your phone and you struggle with finding where you parked your car when you're out shopping and running errands.    I generally spend a good 5 minutes roaming around parking lots looking for my car.  I don't have the time for that when I'm in a rush to put my shopping bags away and get home.  It's also terrible when it's dark out or when it's bad weather.

The other issue I always have is charging my phone.  Unless I'm driving, I'm never around a charger long enough to get a full charge.  I can't stand not having a charged phone because I feel panicked as if I may not be able to use it in an urgent situation.

So my favorite life hack is ZUS.  That's right! ZUS is a smart car charger and car finder all in one!

ZUS is designed in Germany and has a very attractive sleek look.  Compatible with Google Play and the Apple App Store, ZUS really helps light up the inside of your car with a top of the line lighting system.

ZUS plugs into your vehicle's lighter port and can auto detect your iPhone or Android device! Even if there are multiple phones in your car, ZUS can wirelessly charge them all!  It does so quicker than your average car charger.  And whenever you park your car, ZUS makes note of where you are.  Then when you are ready to find your car later, you just open the ZUS app and it will guide you to your car.

I have to say that it was so easy to set up ZUS and the app.   I like things that are simple and user friendly.  My iPhone charged within 2 hours each time I used it and it's such a luxury to be guided to your car at the end of a long day of shopping.  I love that ZUS helps light up the interior of my car near the cup holders.  It's normally very dark in my car but this really made a big difference.  I absolutely LOVE ZUS!!!!

Memorial Day | Making Memories

Wednesday, May 20, 2015

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and Walmart Family Mobile.  All opinions are mine alone.  #MobileMemories #CollectiveBias

Memorial Day has long been a time that we celebrate the beginning of Summer and since most everyone has off work that Monday, there are so many ways to enjoy yourself for a long weekend.  Being that it's also the beginning of a new season, it's a great time to look over your budget and fine tune it by thinking of ways you can cut back on monthly bills.  It's also a great time to brainstorm on some inexpensive or free ways to enjoy Memorial Day.  One of the ways you can do this is by switching to Walmart Family Mobile and the Lowest Price Unlimited Plans.  I'm talking about Unlimited Talk Text and Data/Web for you to document what you do this Summer.  It's just the perfect time to switch over because phone bills normally suck a lot of money out of our bank account every month.

The Walmart Family Mobile service is $29.88/ month (for the first line) Unlimited Talk, Text & Data service plan which includes up to 1G of 4G LTE data.

I plan to use my Alcatel Evolve 2 to document the fun and free things I do over MY Memorial Day Weekend.   Here are my plans...
Relax by the Water
There's a creek in my backyard so I can't wait to sit by it and watch all the interesting birds and ducks go by.   It will be fun to take photos and share them on social media with my Unlimited Talk, Text & Data service plan!  This phone is so light weight that it's easy to hold for spur the moment photos.
Enjoy the Weather
I plan to lay in the grass and watch the clouds go by and maybe even read a book.  I'll invite my friends to come join me and we can even have a picnic.   It's always fun when you spend a weekend with some of your closest friends!

Road Trip
I like taking little day trips around town to go walk around City Island or hiking.  It will be fun to pack up the car for the day, use my GPS, and just head to some place fun and free! Plus it will give me some fun photos to share with friends on social media.  And of course I'll have a reliable phone if I need to call anyone because I'm lost.... just kidding, or am I? The good news is I will have great 4G LTE Service from Walmart Family Mobile!

Walk the Dogs
It will be nice to get all 4 dogs outside and go to the park where I can walk them around together and stop for impromptu photo shoots with my Alcatel Evolve 2.   I love taking photos of my pups and I always get lots of likes on social media when a photo of them goes up.   I like to try to slow down in life and enjoy the little moments and this will certainly be one of them.

Disclaimer: All prices for phones and plans included in this post are accurate as of the date of posting; however, these prices are subject to change.  Please refer to http://cbi.as/8e03 or your local Walmart for current pricing.

You can find the Alcatel Evolve 2 and the Walmart Family Mobile section in the electronics section of Walmart, where the cellular phone aisle is.

So that's how I'm spending my Memorial Day, how will you spend yours?

Wearable Technology // You'll Never Have A Missed Call Again

Thursday, September 18, 2014

This site has affiliate links and sponsored content. Read my Disclosure Policy.

As a handbag lover, it's very common for me to stuff my cell phone in my oversized handbag and then forget about it.  It's usually so full of stuff that I can't even feel it vibrate when the ringer's off.   Well, apparently I'm not the only one with that problem because Trellie has developed a solution for it with their Wireless Call Notifier! 80% of women actually carry their phone in their purse, so it's a very common problem.

Trellie has a patent-pending, simple and sleek handbag accessory that ntifies you visually of an incoming call.  It uses blue and white flashing LED lights and when the call is missed it switches to a slower flash or blue.  Trellie will keep flashing until you stop it or after an hour.  If your phone has bluetooth technology then you can use Trellie.   And it runs on 2 AAA batteries so you don't have to worry about recharging it.

All you have to do is pair Trellie with your cell phone once and then it'll get to work for you.

I mean how can you see or hear a phone ring when it's buried in your bag?   And what if it's an important call?   But with a simple and stylish little device like Trellie you'll never have to worry again! Wouldn't it be nice to not have to obsessively check your bag or your phone every few minutes?    And when it does ring you will be for sure when you check it.  No more fumbling around in the middle of a busy store for your phone only to find out it never even rang or vibrated.   Makes you feel embarassed and paranoid when that happens!

.

What I really love about Trellie is how discreet it is to carry on your bag.   It looks like a stylish little handbag charm.  No one even knows it's to keep me from missing a call.

Keep this in mind for Christmas ladies.  It would make a great gift for you, a coworker, family member, or a friend!

Thanks Trellie for the peace of mind!!

My Jellyfish Charger has Saved My Battery Problems

Tuesday, January 14, 2014

This site has affiliate links and sponsored content. Read my Disclosure Policy.

I am so so so happy to finally resolve the issues of my iPhone dying so quickly. There have been many times when I've been at a blog conference or other event and I'm trying to share things constantly on social media and then my phone battery begins to die and panic sets in. That's all come to an end now that I found out about Jellyfish and their lifesaving products! Okay, maybe it's more of a phone saving concept but still, it takes a lot of stress out of my life. Jellyfish has all kinds of awesome products like phone cases, accessory sets, audio accessories, and power accessories. Not only that but they all come in fun vibrant colors.

I actually received a Go Go Juice Charger in Bodacious Blue. Not only does the bright color make it easy to find in my handbag but the shape and size of the charging pack is perfect! It comes with a 200 mAh battery that can provide your phone with a full charge and 6-8 hours of additional talk time. It also has a Micro AND a USB portal so it's universal. You can use it for different types of tablets and smart phones and there's even an LED battery level indicator light that shows you how much charge you have left. It can retain a full charge up to 1 year and if it isn't in use it will automatically shut off. And it's got a built in LED flashlight. It seriously doesn't get any cooler than that. So much convenience and power all in that little device!

I

was so impressed when I used this at the past few events. It gave my phone so much more battery life! I charged it overnight before the day of the event and then it was ready to go in the morning. Even with it plugged into my phone it didn't add any obnoxious bulk. In fact I love how lightweight it is! Everyone needs one of these because you never know when you may run out and not be around a charging source like a wall outlet. That's normally the case for me when I'm on the go or at an event so this has come in SO handy!

So here are this weeks iStyle Looks! The theme of these looks is to simply pick ONE color from the case, and match it with ONE matching color wardrobe piece.

The first look uses the Hybrid Case for the iPhone4. I call this Wild in Green and it uses the Mint Chocolate Chip animal skin iPhone4 Hybrid Case, which has an interchangeable inside. I chose the yellow rubber lining and that's what I decided to match with this outfit, leaving the green case as the main statement color. I paired it with a solid yellow Body Central top and pink Old Navy skinny jeans.

The second look uses yellow once again, and I call it Yelling in Yellow. I made the yellow of the iPad mini case in Sophisticated Nature pop by pairing it with a yellow Guess sweater and dark wash Jbrand Jeans skinny jeans.

And for the final look, I used the Warm Hearted iPad mini case and paired it with a pair of red skinny jeans. The red in the paisley design matches and it doesn't conflict with the flannel top. I call this look Heart Warming.

5 Ways the Covet Fashion App is Good for Shopping and Fashion Addictions

Friday, November 22, 2013

So when I was at LuckyFABB last month I discovered the most amazing fashion app ever for my iPhone. It's called Covet and it's basically an opportunity for you to build a wardrobe, style different looks, enter into contests to get cash (for more clothing) and tickets (to enter into events), and vote on other's looks!! The best part about it is that it's actual items that are currently sold by actual brands and designers such as Kill City, Hudson, and more!!!

So here are 5 reasons why I love it and why you will too.

1. It gives me my shopping fix.

Whether it's an item I can't afford in real life or just something I want to buy because it's cute, I can save my cash and purchase it in the app, all while saving money in real life!

2. It gives me outfit inspiration for my own closet.

I screen shot outfits I like even by other players and I seriously have seen a major improvement in the outfits I've been wearing in real life lately, mostly because I got inspiration from the app!

3. I discovered some new brands.

And I even discovered that some brands are more affordable than I once thought! I am now keeping my eye on some Kill City pieces that I saw on their real life website!

4. You get virtual cash for shopping when you refer friends!

Speaking of... if you use my link, you will get me cash and then I will be able to go to your closet, check out your looks and even hit the LIKE button on them!

5. You can win REAL LIFE PRIZES!

They hold little style challenges on the Covet Instagram page and they even have real life prizes offered in weekly challenges!!!
