Goth/Grunge is Gorgeous!

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

People seem to always assume that people with tattoos are "goth" and wear nothing but black.  Listening to rock music and attending concerts does not make you "gothic".  But if you want to call it that, okay!  Regardless,  the look that I really enjoy is what most people would deem "gothic", "grunge", or "hardcore".  There are tons of celebs out there that dress like this.  Usually layering different pieces, most with holes in them, or see through/lace.  And it's usually grey, black, or more of a plain color. But sometimes, not...it all depends on how you rock it.  Anyways, here are some of my fav looks!

I honestly love the whole hardcore rockstar look.  I think it's easier to put together because you can take simple cheap pieces and combine them and layer them to make a great look.  What do you think?
A major part of this whole look is the ripped jeans/leggings/shorts.  Honestly, it's a great excuse if you really do have some beat up pants that you want to further tear and then rock the night away with, literally!   And when would the "average person" rock a look like those above... well... a concert is a great place.  Not even a big name concert, but a rock show at a local bar or club is the perfect place.  You'll fit right in! Have YOU ever rocked these looks?

What's In MY Bag?

Thursday, June 16, 2011

I've talked about it, and now it's time!  This will be the first What's In Your Bag post.  Please refer to it if you need help doing yours!
My bag is Nicole Lee USA and inside it is:
1. My Coach Wallet - because it has enough pockets to hold all my cards, and it's easy to open and close. That's important to me when I'm rushed at the store.
2. My checkbook.  Because you just never know.
3. Big Sexy Hair hairspray (travel size).  It comes in handy in the humidity, and on windy days.
4. Gum.  I use it to curb hunger cravings.
5. Awesome Leopard Print Sunglasses from Gauddess. They are my favorite animal print and they help keep me from squinting outside since my eyes are so sensitive to light.
6. My HTC Thunderbolt cell phone. Because without it...well...I'd feel naked!
7. My Kindle.  It's loaded with my favorite reading material.
8. Batiste Dry Shampoo (Travel Size) It's perfect for middle of the day when you feel like your hair's getting greasy from sweating, etc.  I truly love this stuff.  Smells great too and leaves no residue!
9. A pen.  Because I always need it when I'm at the bank or for number 10.
10. A note pad for my daily To Do lists which change a million times.
11. PINK Lip Gloss from Victorias Secret.  I love this stuff. It's shimmery but it doesn't make me nauseaus lol!
12. Bodycology Body Spray.  Great for when you are on the go.  I love the smell of this stuff, it reminds me of a perfume but I can't think of which perfume! lol!
13. A Chihuahua change purse.  I don't need to give a reason why. It's self explanatory! And because there's no real change compartment in my Coach wallet.
14.  Ponytail holders.  You never know when you will randomly lose the one on your wrist LOL.
15. A watch from The Trendy Boutique because if I'm not wearing it on my wrist, it's in my bag for when I do put it on.  I take it off to tan and workout.  I love it's bright colors!  My favorite watch yet!

PetQRTag Review

Saturday, June 11, 2011

PetQRTag is a website that offers you a great way to combine your cell phone with your pet’s security.

Say your dog has it’s tag on, and it wanders off, anyone who finds your pooch can take a picture of the little bar code on the dog’s tag.  It will then open a picture with the information about the dog and your contact information also.  This makes it super easy for the person who finds your dog to contact you ASAP!

With the PetQRTag you can keep your pet’s information current and there are no monthly subscription costs.  You receive annual reminders to make sure your pet’s information is updated.  You can update important medical information and food needs so that the person who finds your dog can properly care for them until you are able to come.

Worried about security?  You can keep information hidden from the public, and then change it when the need arises, like when you actually discover your pet has wondered off.  You can share your pet’s page on Twitter and Facebook.

The PetQRTag is very lightweight and barely noticeable to your pet.

I received a PetQRTag and was quite satisfied with how easy it was to set up!

The PetQRTag is only $14.95 with no hidden fees or monthly costs!

EatSmart  offers a line of scales and weight management tools for your bathroom, kitchen, and for your luggage!  Their scales are super accurate and are engineered to the highest precision.   Their kitchen scales are great for controlling your portions when dieting!

And just in time for Father’s Day is the Luggage Scale for the dad who travels a lot! It’s perfect for saving time at the security line worrying about if your luggage weighs the right amount to be carry on.

I received the Precision Voyager Luggage Scale and it worked great.  It had a sleek design, and features the two handed SmartGrip design Handles!  I tested it out a few times and it was very accurate and easy to use.  You simply turn it on while holding your luggage, and within a couple of seconds it gives you a weight. LoveLee Studio Review

Sunday, June 5, 2011

LoveLee Studio was founded by Lauren Pinchouck.  She has a great eye for fashion and design and she also has a background in event planning.  Since we all have the same dilemma when it comes to finding purses, you know, not being able to find the one that fits you best, Lauren decided she would combine every little thing she loves into one bag.  She began naming her styles after all the amazing places she had travelled to across the world.
I have personally dealt with Lauren Pinchouck and she is a very friendly person.  She was very professional, and very concerned with making sure my designs were just as I had requested.

I received a Chicago Clutch that I had custom designed with all the different patterns I liked.  It’s the perfect size for my Kindle!! It’s so gorgeous and I love how all the patterns look great together.

LoveLee Studio will give you a beautifully hand designed bag! There are all different types of bags to choose from including totes, wristlets, clutches, and laptop bags.  I can’t get over how adorable and unique their fabrics are.

Not only is this a great idea for yourself, but a hand designed bag from LoveLee Studio would be a great gift for someone close to you and I know that the Chicago Clutch also is great to fit an IPad, if you have any Ipad owners in your life!

Amethyst Jeans Review

Saturday, June 4, 2011

Amethyst Jeans are my new favorite jean company.  They provide you with affordable, comfortable, and high quality junior sized jeans, capris, and shorts! The price of jeans from Amethyst Jeans from from $25-$48.

Below are the capris and shorts I received and I love them both! I wear the capris ALL THE TIME! They fit great and yet they don’t get saggy after repeat wears.  The shorts are great because they are stretchy and breathable but they are so comfortable.

You can find Amethyst Jeans at Boscovs and several different websites.  Use this map to see what locations of Amethyst Jeans retailers are closest to you.  I know here in PA I have also seen these jeans at Wet Seal and Body Central.

I highly recommend these jeans to anyone who loves denim, has trouble finding just the right size when it comes to jeans, and for anyone that doesn’t feel comfortable paying $100 for a pair of jeans.  These jeans are bargain priced but such high quality!

Alex and Ani Review

Friday, June 3, 2011

Alex and Ani is an elegant jewelry company which designs products that will adorn your body, enlighten your mind, and empower your spirit!  Their designs are classy but unique.  Alex and Ani highlights the idea that what is pure and natural is the most beautiful.  They create jewelry from recycled materials that enrich the beauty of each piece.  All the recycled, eco friendly materials are made entirely in the US.  Because of this, Alex and Ani purchases metals from local mills who receive scraps from refineries, which in turn, uses those pieces and then sells their scraps BACK to the Mills.  Pretty cool huh?  It’s like its own little cycle!!  The designer, Carolyn Rafaelian believes that by creating designs that support the environment and encourage social consciousness, consumers can use their purchases to make a different in protecting our planet and our future.

I received the Star of Venus Bangle from Alex and Ani.  I treasure it because I care so much and feel so strongly about the environment and I know that this tiny piece of jewelry has had some sort of impact in the protection and sustainability of it.  It’s so beautiful (my bangle I mean!) and it never gets in the way, and I don’t have to worry about it slipping off or catching on something.  I wear it everywhere!

Please check out Alex and Ani today on Facebook and Twitter!
