Friday, January 31, 2020

Whether you have a garage that isn’t being used or have recently built a separate building in the garden, creating a home gym is very appealing. The idea of exercise without travel, gym memberships, and strangers watching offer the incentives. However, it’s only worthwhile if you’ll actually utilize the space on a frequent basis.

Your home gym doesn’t need to emulate a commercial gym, but it needs to feel comfortable and promote the right energy. Here’s how to make sure it does.

How Important Are Libraries?

Wednesday, January 29, 2020

There are plenty of spaces throughout society that can be considered among the most important. Hospitals, for example, and the courts of law. These are the obvious answers, but there are also some spaces that also have a considerable influence, but in a more subtle way. One such example is public libraries. These can have a tremendous impact on communities, and help to make the country a better place. On the face of it, their influence might not be instantly recognizable -- but it extends far and wide. After all, more people in the United States visited a library last year than visited the cinema, and there are also more public libraries than there are McDonald’s. Nice!

How To Create and Use an Altar

Before you wonder what I’m talking about….I’m sure you’ve seen photos on Instagram over the last year or so of a beautiful tapestry surrounded by flowers, stones, candles, and whatever else the poster wants to place on their altar. An altar is a special sacred setup that can be used to pay respect to someone or something. Altars are used in churches, there are seasonal altars, altars we create in our own home without even realizing it when we keep a memento from our great grandmother next to her photo. But to me an altar is something more.

Why We Ignore Our Own Cries For Help

Wednesday, January 22, 2020

From a young age, many children are taught that crying is a bad or unhelpful thing. We’re taught this, to toughen us up to their dangers of the world. In some ways, you can see why the older generation may have done this. They went through very turbulent times both politically and economically. However, the more we understand about mental health, the more we should turn our back on this way of thinking. It can lead to one of the most unhelpful things of all; ignoring your own cries for support. You may have this trait in your personality but you’re most likely completely unaware of it. Who Is Responsible for Medical Bills if Your Child Is Hit By a Car?

Few things can kick you into overdrive like your child being injured.

Children can sustain injuries in several different ways, but being hit by a car as a pedestrian is certainly one of the worst. This can often come with lifelong complications that impair their ability to walk, function or think.

Nobody wants to imagine their child being the victim of a pedestrian-car accident, but it can happen. Teaching children how to safely cross the street is a great way to mitigate this, but it won’t always protect them against a poor driver’s mistakes.

Should your child ever get hit by a car, you’ll want to know who’s responsible for the medical bills. This isn’t as straightforward as you might think, so we’ll explain how this is determined below.

Tuesday, January 7, 2020

For the majority of human history, most people were satisfied to live in the absence of disease or infirmity. With most children dying before the age of five and adults living to their late thirties, every day was something of a blessing. Wellness just meant staying alive.
