Behind the Wheel of the 2014 Mazda6

I had a fun week with the 2014 Mazda6 and I fell in love with the driving experience as well as the interior features and safety features.

The sound system is so enjoyable and the easy to control climate buttons were great for chilly mornings, hot afternoon sun, and whatever else I needed.   It feels so luxurious in the drivers seat.    The Mazda6 also was great with braking, especially when it was necessary to prevent an accident!   Honestly, it was so natural and comfortable I felt like I had been driving it for years when I first drove it.

Working in the city, I deal with a lot of stop and go traffic and I loved that the Mazda6 stopped short when necessary, and maneuvered quickly during lane switches.  It really has such a smooth ride even when it just comes to a curvy street and whenever I was on rough roads, I could barely tell.   It's so quiet inside and really absorbs the shock of the bumps before it even gets to the driver!    I am still UBER impressed with the fuel economy.  I have to say, my car is already good on gas, but the 2014 Mazda6 is insanely efficient with fuel!

I really love how spacious it is inside and how great it is for transporting other people, or just your groceries! It was so easy to park even in the most narrow of spots, and between the blind spot alerts, the back up cam, and the regular windows, I had no problem changing lanes, merging onto highways, or backing out of small parking spots.

This car is great, I truly recommend it to anyone that loves luxury mixed with sportiness, safety, and reliability!    2 thumbs up for Mazda!

Dexas Kitchen Tools & Popware for Pets Review

This site has affiliate links and sponsored content. Read my Disclosure Policy.

Dexas is a company based out of Texas that offers a line of cutting boards, kitchen tools, and gadgets as well as silicone heat-resistant items. Their unique and versatile kitchenware is available in the trendiest colors and they help stimulate culinary creativity. Dexas also created the Popware for Pets line that contains pet care and travel products such as food and water bowls and cups! Everything is quality made and is easy on the eyes!

I received so many cool items from Dexas. For the pups I received: Collpasible KlipScoops - Medium and Small - These are perfect for portion control. The pre-measured volume allows you to prevent overfeeding and the clip is perfect for holding a food or treat bag closed so it doesn't get stale. It also collapses flat so you can save room in storage and the best part - it's dishwasher-safe!

Collapsible Kennel Bowl - This allows you to clip it to your pup's kennel or crate and you can fold it up when not in use. When it is in use, you can lock the bowl in place and expand it. It's also dishwasher safe. It's easy to attach and remove as well!

Collapsible Travel Cup - This is awesome for on the go. When I take the pups anywhere I always want to keep them hydrated and I can do that now with a lightweight clip on for my belt loops or backpack. It collapses to less than half an inch thick and the bottle holder ring fits standard water bottles. This is perfect for no mess and no fuss when travelling! My girls (and boy) love it!

Pet Bowl Grippmat - I love this, as it's a non-slip food bowl placemat that helps keep the floor clean in the kitchen, since I tend to accidentally kick the water bowl sometimes! It also contains crumbs and I love the non skid rubber.

Elevated Pet Feeder - Rocky soooo needed this! He sits when he eats, and the other dogs try to zoom in to his bowl while his head is raised up above it as he chews. Now, once I pop out the legs, the bowl is closer to his face when he sits. And it's easier on his joints from leaning when eating. It also improves digestion and is better for his feeding posture! The bowl is detachable and easy to clean in the dishwasher! The legs are adjustable from 8" to 13" tall!

And for myself in the kitchen I received:

Jelli Chop & Scoop - Such a great idea... a cutting board for fruits and veggies that contains the runny juices. The easy to grip handle makes it much safer to hold while I chop food and it's even easier to lift and pour into a bowl. It's non stick and non absorbent and it won't dull knives.

4" Santoku Knife - What a stylish knife for cheeses, fruits, and anything else. It's made from high carbon stainless steel and is very grippable. It's also ergonomically designed so you can get precision cutting results. The blade has a nonstick finish and the handle is nice and soft! I love this thing!

Collapsible 8" POP Strainer - This strainer can expand to the capacity of a full quart simply by flicking your wrist. And then it can collpase down to the size of a dinner plate. It takes up less space in storage and in the dishwasher when you collapse it. It's easy to use, wash, and it's non-porous! This is great for salads and pasta!

Spoon & Strain Tongs - This is a great tool for portion control. The spoon side measures 2 TBSP and the slotted side can be used for straining sauces. The locking handle makes it take up less room when stored and the handle is soft and non slip grip! It's dishwasher safe and it stainless steel!

Keep these items in mind for the Holiday Season! They are great gift ideas!

10 Tips for Future #LuckyFABB Attendees

Friday, November 1, 2013

For those of you who hope to someday attend LuckyFABB or any other kind of fashion or blogger conference, I put together a few tips for you.

1. Wear (or bring) comfy shoes.

I suggest flats.  You will stand, you will walk, you will be exhuasted and sore by the end of the first day.   You can still be stylish in flats or flat boots!

2.  Bring your camera/phone charger.

Trust me, you will need it.  My phone died about 5 times the first day alone!

3.  Get business cards made.

Hand these out to other bloggers, PR people, and brands at the event.   Make sure it has your twitter handle as well as your email address and blog address as well.

4.  Be Friendly.

You never know who in attendance already reads your blog, and it would be a shame to do something rude towards them and then lose them as a follower.   Remember, you are all there for the same reason!

5.  Bring Snacks.

A girl's gotta eat, and plus you know you can find room to stash them in your ginormous handbag!

6.  Do your research!

Read over the agenda and what will be discussed.   Write down any questions you want to ask and make sure you know who the people are so that you can easily describe what's going on when you live tweet, etc.

7.  Follow the speakers/guests on social media.

It will come in handy when you quickly want to tag them in your tweets during their session!

8.  Take notes!

Bring along a notepad and 2 pens and your ipad or any other device you plan to take notes with.

9. Bring a foldable bag or a HUGE handbag to carry any goodies you snag.   You will get things along the way and you will want to take mementos home.

10.  SOCIALIZE!

Don't be afraid to strike random conversations up with other attendees.   These people are all sharing one common thing with you (at least)... the love of blogging/fashion/LuckyFABB!

Getting Technical with the 2014 Mazda6

This site has affiliate links and sponsored content. Read my Disclosure Policy.
Cars, Mazda, , mazda6, drive experiences, Drive STI,

Aside from the convenient and stylish features of the 2014 Mazda6, there are plenty of safety features that make the car a great choice.   24 hour roadside assistance is a must and the blue tooth hands free phone is great for driving and not getting distracted.  There is an anti-theft engine immobilizer as well as a blind spot monitoring system.   For city drivers, like myself, the Smart City Brake Support will help you stop ON A DIME when you can, in order to not crash into the person in front of you. She seriously was a doll in the rain this week. In fact, I made it through those enormous puddles NO PROBLEM, didn't even feel like I lost control of the car at all. Plus, the traction...great!!!!!

Traction control is fantastic in this car, and it really makes me feel safer no matter what the driving conditions are like.  The 2014 Mazda6 has dual front airbags, front side-impact air bags, and front and rear side air curtains.

Oh, and did I mention that it has SKYACTIV technology which increases fuel efficiency and engine output.

So really, whether you have kids, pets, or just yourself... you can get a smooth, easy, and safe ride in this car.   And check back next week when I give you all the details on how it was behind the wheel of the 2014 Mazda6!

My Happiness Project - November: Keep a Contented Heart

This month My Happiness Project for November is to Keep a Contented Heart.   I have been struggling with many things this year (but haven't we all) so it's important to keep my happiness a priority.   .

Ways I will do this are:
1. Laugh more.
2. Be More Positive
3. Be selfish in a good way

1. Laugh more.
I need to remember to watch more funny videos, tell more jokes at work, and just lighten up overall. I naturally am pretty silly and sarcastic so I need to embrace it more.

2.  Be More Positive.
I am a pretty positive person as is, but I need to be even more positive especially with myself! I will think of the good part of everything...always!

3. Be selfish in a good way.
I need to love myself so much and put myself and my needs first because if I don't and I'm not happy..then what's the point?

Check back at the end of the month to see how I reached my goal!
