Layering is so fun in the Winter and it's a great way to get more out of each piece of clothing you own.  The best part is when two items go together perfectly, like my purple plaid blouse and my purple cardigan!

I am just loving how much I can embrace my love of plaid this season and even when it snows, it makes no difference.   There's something about the look of plaid and flannel that makes it feel even more comfortable!

Psst, wanna know a secret? That braid in my hair isn't even real!   It's from Hair2wear.  It's easy to put in just like any other headband except it's just not my own hair.  It's great because I have NO clue how to do my hair like that anyways so this is perfect!

So What I Wore:
Boots - Just Fab; Jeans - Our World Boutique; Shirt - Target; Hair Braid - Hair2wear.

Outfit of the Day: Comfortable in Flannel

This is by far my favorite look yet. And it's so simple and casual. I absolutely love love love love flannel and this flannel shirt from Paige Denim is my newest obsession. I sleep in it, I lounge in it, I dress it up, and I dress it down. And when I threw on my favorite pair of jeans, some chic boots, and my fav messenger bag...BOOM!

What to wear with flannel outfit

The great thing about flannel is that no matter what you do, it can always be worn in different ways and still be comfortable. I rolled up the sleeves so it didn't look too casual but also I wanted to leave it open so it DID look casual without making me look like I'm a country girl. Plus, throw on some sunglasses and now you just look super stylish.

The messenger bag from Galian looks so great whether it's dressed up or down and here it is literally THE perfect bag for this outfit. My watch is actually able to be modified, hence why it's from Modify Watches. I can actually remove the watch face and slip it easily into another silicone band. I like the grey band because it matches my cami. And my necklace is gorgeous and it's from Charming Charlie. I love how the gold looks with this comfortable ensemble.

So What I Wore:

Jeans - M2F Denim (similar); Messenger Bag - Galian (similar); Boots - Cobb Hill Shoes (and here); Cami - Express; Flannel Shirt - Paige Denim; Sunglasses - TJ Maxx; Watch - Modify Watches; Necklace - Charming Charlie.

5 Reasons to Love Flannel

Wednesday, November 6, 2013

Personally, I could live in my flannel shirts.  Actually, I have.   I have worn them during the day, slept in them at night, and worn them anywhere and everywhere.     Flannel will always be around so if you don't already embrace this ongoing trend, here are 5 reasons you should.

Flannel is versatile
It can be dressed up with a skirt and booties, or it can be dressed down say with a dark flannel shirt, skinny jeans and combat boots.

It can be worn as outerwear
Don't get me wrong, when it's freezing out, wear a coat.. but when you're just running in and out quickly or it's not too frigid out, don't be ashamed to throw that flannel on! A flannel tunic can work wonders on a chilly night on the porch!

It's Comfortable
How can it not be?   It's soft, not too bulky, and it can always fit, whether you wear it open with a cami underneath, or you button it up completely.

It comes in endless colors
And I love them all. Light, dark, neon, sparkly, girly, goth.   You can seriously have a flannel in every color!  Above, I styled a green plaid top with purple pants.

It's affordable
Whether you steal it from your boyfriend's wardrobe, or you go to a sporting good store and find it on clearance, you can find flannel almost anywhere.  And it's durable too so it'll last!!
