If you ask me what my go to outfit is when I want to be comfortable but still presentable in public, it's definitely a pair of boots with skinny jeans and a flannel top.  

Flannel tops give a nice country chic look without being too frumpy.  Plus if you don't want to wear boots with a top like this then casual sneakers can look just fine! But sometimes I still need my outfit to pop and I need something that's going to stand out.

Let's talk about red and how the color itself makes a bold statement. I don't own any red in my wardrobe and actually this is the first piece of red jewelry I've ever owned!

I'm obsessed with this Red Statement Tagua Nut Necklace from GalapagosTagua.  I actually first spotted it in Pioneer Woman magazine! GalapagosTagua is an awesome  company owned by Alejandra who is originally from Ecuador.  The company is a great mix of the love of her home country and a great way to give back to the artisans from Ecuador.   The name comes from the Tagua Nut which is a seed from a palm tree that grows primarily in the northern part of South  America.  It's used to make a lot of gorgeous jewelry items as well as piano keyboards, buttons, and chess pieces and it's so similar to elephant ivory that it's known as the "Vegetable Ivory".

As for comfort, this necklace is large and makes a big statement but it's very lightweight which is ideal for me.  Sometimes I'll wear a statement necklace and it's so heavy that my neck feels sore by the end of the day.

Date Night Details

We had another monthly date night last month which was our first since we got married.   I love date nights because not only do I not have to cook, but it's a great excuse to actually schedule a night out with each other.

So what did I wear? Well, it was still very nice weather (70 degrees or higher) so I went with open toed wedge sandals.   They look high but they are insanely comfortable.  I of course had my favorite black bag - a Rebecca Minkoff with me.

And rather than an LBD I opted for a little black and white striped dress.  It's actually a LuLaRoe Julia and it is so comfortable!   It was a great night and we went to Piazza Sorrento in Hershey which has amazing gluten free options and James loves the place! So did I, of course!

These leggings are so cute. They have feathers and dream catchers on them and I love the colors because they are perfect for Fall.

This shirt actually matches the one color in the feathers so it's a perfect outfit and I topped it off with a denim jacket.

This is still my favorite skirt EVER and I never used to wear paisley. I love all the colors in it too. When I see paisley normally it has more brown, orange, and yellow tones and I think that's why I wasn't a fan.  This skirt, however, has pink, purple, and green which makes it one of my favorite color combinations in my closet.

Outfit of the Day: Side Slits

This maxi dress is just so comfortable but best of all it has side slits on it so even on the hottest of days, a nice breeze let's me keep cool when I'm in the sun.

I paired this with a navy blue top from The Mogan and honestly, I love the colors together.  It's a nice classy look.

It was a hot and sticky day the other week when I wore this dress. I love it though because it has a built in support for going braless. I was in heaven!
