My Daily Kitchen Reset

A kitchen reset is one of my favorite things to do because the kitchen is the most used area of my home besides the living room.  That means it gets lots of traffic and lots of mess on a daily basis.  A kitchen reset is something I do at the end of the day for 5-10 minutes so my kitchen is sparkling clean and ready to go the next day.

Clear
First I start off by clearing off the countertops. Any clutter that doesn't belong gets taken care of. Trash gets thrown in the trashcan, clean dishes go away, and dirty dishes go in the dishwasher.  This is usually the easiest step because I normally handle stuff as I go in the kitchen so ingredients get put back immediately after use.

Clean
Once everything's put away like it should be I clean everything.  I move my plants and any small appliances so I can clean under them then I spray the countertops down.  After wiping them clean I also will wipe down the stovetop, range hood, clean the microwave inside if it's dirty, and clean the faces of my large appliances.  I also deep clean my sink every week so I try to do that on a Sunday so I start the week fresh.  I make sure I even pay attention to knobs, handles, etc. so I can keep them clean and sterilized.

Reset
The rest part is my favorite because this is where I make everything perfect and ready to go for the next day.  I will replace the dirty dishtowel, replace the paper towel roll with a new one if it's empty,  pop a new coffee pod in my coffee maker so it's ready for me the next morning.

When I'm done everything is sparkling clean and I feel so accomplished and ready to slip into my bedtime routine. And let me tell you there is absolutely nothing better than starting the next day with a clean kitchen.

Do you reset your kitchen every night?
