Packing for a trip can be stressful but it doesn't have to be. With a few simple steps, you can master the art of travel so that it's less of a burden.
Walk Through Your Trip
Walk Through Your Trip
We tend to pack in a panic as if we think we will need 15 pairs of underwear and all those unique things we MIGHT use on a trip. But breaking your packing list up by mentally walking through your trip can be SO helpful. Plan for 1 pair of underwear and socks each day with 2 extra included. Think of the activities you're doing on different days and then you know what type of gear to bring. If you are going out for a fancy dinner 2 nights, pack 2 different nice outfits.
Check the Weather
If you're traveling quite far from where you live you need to look at the forecast for your destination in order to ensure you're packing things you actually need for the climate. You won't be wearing shorts if you're going somewhere the weather is 15 degrees.
Set a Schedule
Create an actual schedule for your trip of what your routine will be each day so you know what you can pack and what you won't need. If you won't have any time to exercise because your business trip includes extremely long days, don't bother packing multiple workout outfits.
Think Practical
Of course we love dressing up especially on trips but if you're going on a sightseeing tour in a city you won't want to wear uncomfortable heels the whole time. Pack for comfort but also be practical. Casual shoes or sneakers are a better alternative if you'll be on your feet a lot.
Simplifying Your Hairstyle
Embrace your natural hair texture instead of packing curlers and a flat iron. That just takes up more space and takes more effort to pack and unpack. Do the same with your beauty routine.
Remember, You Can Buy Stuff in an Emergency
The worst that can happen (unless you're going to a remote location) is that you realize you need something and you have to run out and buy it. That usually DOESN'T happen but we tend to fear that it will so we overpack and then we struggle to find what we need in our luggage and end up only wearing what we can easily grab.
