Things You Can Declutter from your Bathroom

Whether you have a big bathroom or you're like me and only have room for the most important things in your tiny bathroom, decluttering the bathrooms in your home is a must. Here's a list of things to declutter from your bathrooms.  Obvious Non Bathroom Items
This is kind of a no brainer but anything that really doesn't belong in the bathroom should not be there.  Don't use the bathroom as a storage area for things that belong in other rooms.  This differs for each person so all you need to do is look around and figure out what doesn't make sense to stay in there.

Clothing
Clothing items should not be stored in the bathroom unless it's a hamper for dirty clothes.  Make sure all clothing items are removed and hung in a closet or folded and put away in a dresser drawer.  Shoes and slippers shouldn't be stored here either.

Furniture and Decor
Sometimes storage decor or cute decor items like statues, faux plants, etc. take up valuable real estate in our bathrooms.  It's important to remove whatever becomes a burden. If you have to constantly be careful you don't knock over a display shelf of decor items, it's best to get rid of it altogether.

Medications
Anything expired needs to go.  Make sure you have one of each type of medication or vitamin and get rid of the rest.  If you have multiples, combine bottles as long as the expiration dates are similar.  There's no sense in having multiple bottles of the same item.  Decluttering medications is important because it makes it easier to see what you have so you don't buy duplicates unnecessarily.

Towels and Washcloths
Towels and washcloths obviously belong here but you should always go through and get rid of any that are torn or stained.  Keep only the best and find a cute way to display them like rolling them and standing them up in a small basket on a shelf over the toilet.

Makeup
Makeup should be decluttered often, discarding anything expired or that you no longer like or use.  It's important to only keep what you need to so you have plenty of space and it's easy to find what you want and also keep an eye on if it's time to discard and replace.

Haircare and Skincare
Go through all of your skincare and haircare items after you gather them into one place.  Check under the sink, in the shower, and on shelves to ensure you have everything.  Make note if you have duplicates so you use it all up before buying new.

Backstock
Backstock can be kept in a bathroom if it's tucked out of the way like in a bathroom closet or linen closet.  But you don't want to keep 6 bottles of the same shampoo in your shower.  Just keep your current one and have a designated shelf in a closet for backstop that's organized and labeled.  Whenever you are running low on something, check backstock first before you add it to your shopping list.

Keeping your bathroom decluttered allows you to make the best use of it and helps keep the chaos out of your daily self care routine.
