An Honest Review of the 2016 Lexus NX 200t F-Sport

Monday, January 18, 2016

I received a free week in this vehicle in exchange for my honest opinion. Read my Disclosure Policy.

So I spent the last week driving around in the luxurious 2016 Lexus NX 200t F-Sport SUV.

Pros:
//The AWD of this SUV was amazing.  It was great on the rainy days I had to travel on the highway or around town.  I didn't feel nervous once that I was going to spin out, slip, or be affected by the road conditions.  I love a vehicle that can keep it's cool along with me.

//The NX 200t handled around corners and sharp turns exceptionally well.  Surprisingly, the contents of my purse didn't spill out like I'm used to.

//The best way to describe the exterior of this SUV is sexy and fierce.  I love the trim both inside and out but the headlights and the overall exterior design has such a badass look.  And while it's an SUV it doesn't have a bulky appearance.

//I love that you can select the driving mode - there's Normal, ECO (fuel efficient) and Sport.  I really love ECO mode because it truly had great gas mileage.

//The 2016 Lexus NC 200t F-Sport has amazing lighting on the inside and out.  Tap to turn on the interior lights if you're rooting around for something and don't worry about driving at night - the LED headlights are fantastic.  And for someone who squints all the time because driving at night means bright lights in my side and rear view mirrors - this vehicle was a miracle! Gotta love that sunlight reflection feature!

//The center console sits high up and I love it as not only an arm rest if I'm waiting in the car, but also it has amazing storage  space.

//I have to say that the seats of this vehicle are the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in when it comes to driving.  Even after a 2 hour drive I wasn't sore or stiff.

//I can't believe how much cargo space this SUV has.  I love it!

//The temperature control and heating system is a true blessing and I didn't have to wait 20 minutes till I could comfortably drive to work in the morning.

//This vehicle has a great sound system with an eight-channel amplifier and 8 speakers!   I also am in love with the Qi wireless charging tray inside the console box.

//The 200t has some great safety features like a roof impact system in case the roof is impacted, Whiplash-Injury Lessening front seats, and 8 SRS airbags.  There's even a Pre-Collision System.  Talk about peace of mind.

Cons:
//The amount of knobs and buttons on the front dash was a bit overwhelming for me.  I tend to like more of a minimalist dashboard but I'm sure after a month in this vehicle, one would be used to where everything is and what it all does.

//It may be because I'm used to having large open windows in my current card but I thought the windows were a bit small, especially the windshield and at times I felt "cramped" in a way.

//Obviously this is an SUV so it will be larger than most cars meant to fit into a parking spot. Still, I found it relatively easy to pull in and out of a parking spot and while it was especially tricky to parallel park in the city, the backup camera helped!

Overall, this is a great vehicle for anyone  that wants a comfortable ride, great technology, and PLENTY of cargo space!!!  This is like the queen of SUVs to me!

Roasted Veggie Flatbread [Recipe]

Thursday, January 14, 2016

I love veggies these days so it's always fun to add them all to a recipe. Just because this recipe calls for certain ones doesn't mean you can't add your own favorites to it!

Which veggie is your favorite?

5 Cold Weather Outfit Ideas

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

Sometimes we get stuck in a rut where we can't figure out what to wear. Often times, I can't even put an outfit together.  So in case that happens to you, here are a few cold weather outfit ideas that I've worn before.  I hope they inspire you.

[1] Jeans/Boots/Blouse/Jacket
This is a nice layered look for a more casual affair. Just wear a simple loose fitting blouse with a beige or brown jacket over top and some beige or brown boots.

[2] Dark Jeans/ Dress Blouse/Cami/Jacket
I used the same jacket in this outfit but I dressed it up a bit more with dark wash jeans and I added an extra layer for warmth.  A solid white cami looks great under a dress blouse that you leave unbuttoned (or you can button it up!).

[3] Booties/Leather Jacket/Blanket Scarf/Neutral Pants
A simple cami under a leather jacket with a blanket scarf, neutral pants, and black booties makes a great look anytime you will be outdoors perhaps shopping in the city.

[4] Poncho/Jeans/Boots/Cami
A solid color cami matched with a color from a poncho looks amazing with jeans and a simple pair of boots.  It's comfy, cozy, and keeps you warm.

[5] Sweater/Black Jeans/ Leopard Boots
Every girl needs a pair of leopard boots as statement, trust me! So pair those (or if you don't have leopard boots use a leopard scarf) with black denim and a grey sweater.

Hopefully these have given you some ideas of stuff to put together from your own closet!

Exciting Announcements

Monday, January 11, 2016

First - I decided to do a revamp of my current logo and banner.  This blog has been around for almost 6 years and has transformed so much.  For the longest time I considered it an advice and fashion blog.  Realistically, it's a lifestyle blog. I cover a little bit of everything including fashion, beauty, pets, finances, organizing, relationships, life advice, and much much more!  So as you can see in the new tagline - Ask Away is now officially an advice and lifestyle blog!!! I also toned down the pink and switched to a more neutral gray! I'd like to thank my longtime designer Raphael so check him out here.

Next -I have big big news! I am writing a book! It will be all about getting your finances in order including budgeting, cash envelopes, debt pay down, savings, smart shopping and spending, and more.  This goes hand in hand with my next announcement which is more of a favor....

Finally - I have a huge favor to ask of you guys.  Well it's huge to me but it should literally only take you 30 seconds.  Could you PLEASE take this short, 3 question poll about books and reading?  It would really help me with my decisions on my book.
