Peter Som For Kohl's Blogger Event Recap #PeterSomForKohls #MC

“I wrote this review while participating in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Kohl's. I attended a live event and received a promotional item to thank me for participating.”

I am thrilled to share with you my exciting experience last week at the #PeterSomForKohls Blogger Event.   It was held in Jersey City, New Jersey at a Kohl's store and I got a chance to meet Peter Som himself, style some pieces from his new collection, mingle with other awesome bloggers, AND I even purchased some gorgeous pieces that I can't wait to feature in outfit posts!

When I first heard about the #PeterSomForKohls Event I was stoked because I think when a designer creates a line for a store like Kohl's it's such a great treat for fashionistas that won't hurt their budget.   This always makes me feel so much more connected to the designer.   But when I realized I'd get to meet Peter Som himself I was looking forward to see how his personality would be.  Sometimes you can really relate a designer's personality to their work.

When I arrived we were taken into a special reserved room for the bloggers to mingle. There was a whole bunch of finger foods and desserts to munch on before the event began.

At 6:30 PM right on time, the event started with the Kohl's PR Team giving us a brief overview and then in walked Peter Som himself!  He explained that his inspiration for the Peter Som Collection for Kohl's came from vacationing in St. Barths.   That explains the colors he uses - blue for the water, green for the tropical tree leaves, and yellow for the sun and sand.

During the event we participated in 3 styling challenges using Peter Som's collection.   It was a blast to get to style things and photograph them right alongside other bloggers!

The first style challenge was mixing and matching with other items from the store so I chose this Printed Charmeuse Tank with some Rock & Republic jeans.   Since there were some black accents in the print design on the shirt I knew it would look great with black jeans.

Then another challenge was to mix and match to make a modern punk look.

I chose to pair this Jadorable Striped Tee (Which I also purchased) with some dark wash jeans and a black faux leather jacket!  A little punk with a chic shirt.  Stripes are very much in this Spring so this is a great look!

And finally the last challenge was to create a look for a special occasion.

I paired an adorable yellow blouse with Peter Som French Terry Soft Pants. They are so comfortable and have elastic at the bottom of the legs.  I also purchased these!  This is a nice comfortable look for an Easter morning brunch!

And here's a beautiful dress I plan to purchase! It's the Printed Shift Dress. It's super soft and silky and I love the design!   The materials in this collection are amazing quality. I'm so impressed!

I got to say Hi and get a picture with Peter and he even complemented me on my leopard boots.  He said they are a great neutral accessory and I was so excited to hear that because that's what I've been saying every time I wear them.  He even said he loved the pop of color from my blazer!  He was so down to earth and a very nice man.  This made me become a fan of his line even more!

OH and check out these selfies!

This was a fantastic event and an opportunity of a lifetime! I'm so grateful for the experience!

  3. Great views, sound is nice. I think it has to be newly renovated, while i wasn't a fan of the fake laminate wood paneling that is everywhere, i did appreciate the other aesthetics of the place.

  5. Ok, I love that red tank with the two different prints, and I love the rainbow striped maxi. At $78, it's still a little spendy for me, so I'm going to wait for it to be in stock in stores, then maybe it will go on sale (fingers crossed).
