It's been over a year since we've been in our house now and the really cool thing about home ownership is that you can never get bored with your home because there's always things you can update and refresh. Speaking of... you know when people say "Oh, there will ALWAYS be something that needs worked on in your house"? Well that's totally true. It's like we just go from one thing to the next. It doesn't mean the house isn't in good shape, it's just that literally a house is made up of so many components from the yard to the inside to the details around the outside structure that there's always something that can be tweaked. So here are a few things we did:
First.... New Shutters!
Aren't they beautiful? Originally we had black shutters on our home and they were pretty old and beat up. So after shopping around a bit we decided on the color Wedgewood Blue from Home Depot!
I just love the color and the design and I can't believe what a huge difference it's made!
We even did the side of the house too!
Moving on.. the next thing we did was a Dining Room Rearrange!
Before: The wine rack was in the right corner and there was a dark area rug underneath the dining room table.
And the final update.... AREA RUGS!
Before: The dining room had great matching colors on the area rug underneath the table but it was still kind of dark.
After: The light grey rug really lightens it up. It's hard for me to get decent photos because the sun rises and sets diagnolly over our house so I never have good lighting in the living and dining rooms.
Before: The living room had pretty much all brown tones.
After: The grey rug really really lightens it up and I love the pattern on it!
What changes have you made around your home lately?
I love to see the changes you've made! The ficus in the dining room really cozies up the space!
ReplyDeleteAw thank you :) Yea i think it cozies it up too! it's exactly what we needed to soften the feel> it was too cold and boring before
