Whether it’s a planned out road trip, or just a longer car journey that you’re really not looking forward to as much as you may when it comes to a road trip, traveling by car doesn’t have to be a bad experience - sure, if you’re not going with a luxury RV, then it’s perhaps not the most comfortable form of travel, but it also can be enjoyable and even quite comfortable if you plan ahead a little and bring some things along that can help make the journey more tolerable.
In this post, we’re going to share with you a small list of things you can bring along on your car journey to make it easier and more enjoyable. Plus, it’s worth remembering, that there’s not much that’s more stressful and uncomfortable than being squeezed into a tiny plane seat in coach and then having to deal with long lines at security.
A navigation system:Navigation systems have been invented to make driving easier and safer, so instead of trying to multitask whilst driving and having a map spread across the steering wheel - or even worse, checking Google Maps on your phone, then invest in a quality navigation system for your car that you can plug your destination into and let the navigation guide you using the best possible routes without you ever having to touch anything in the process so you’re keeping as safe as you possibly can be.
A dash cam:Like a navigation system, dash cams are something you should consider for your car. They ensure that you’re always staying as safe as possible and within the law as they prevent you from increasing speed unknowingly in areas where the speed limit may not be so readily visible and where you could find yourself being hit with a fine when you get home. Dash cams are things that have gained a lot of popularity in recent years, so if you’re unsure which one you should get, then take a look online for sites that list the best dash cam for your needs to find one that suits you and your family.
Snacks and drinks:Plenty of light snacks such as crackers, pretzels, fruit and drinks like water, tea and coffee are good things to take with you on a car journey - especially if you’re traveling with children, since the costs and time involved in stopping at every rest stop or gas station along the way can fast mount up. You can keep things like tea and coffee warm by using thermos mugs and containers, so whenever you need a little boost, you don’t have to stop.
Entertainment:
Let’s be honest, children of certain ages can only be entertained by views for a certain amount of time, and it’s really not fair on them for us to expect this to keep them entertained. Whilst we may appreciate the scenery, they’re just not going to in the same way, so bring plenty of things like games, books, and even an iPad if you want to play a movie or two for them. Don’t allow people to make you feel like a bad parent for this - if you’ve ever been on a long car journey with bored children, this will be your savior.
