2020 Will Be Your Year

Sunday, December 15, 2019

You can change your life at any time, but the New Year does mark a particularly good opportunity. And we’re not just moving into any old new year; this is an entirely new decade, so it’s an even better time than normal. It doesn’t matter what has happened before: when 2020 rolls around, you’ve got a chance to create your own, awesome life. But of course, you shouldn’t just expect this to happen -- you’ll need to will it into existence. Below, we take a look at a few tried and tested tips that’ll lead you to become a better version of yourself in the coming year.

Set Goals

When was the last time that you really set a target for yourself? Once we get into the rhythm of life, it doesn’t happen all that often. We just get stuck in the groove of the day to day stuff. If you’re going to step up, then you’ll want to plot a route to how you’re going to get there. Setting yourself a challenge can bring various benefits, including upping your confidence. And who doesn’t like the simple act of success? So get thinking, and see what you can come up with.

Say Goodbye to Problems

Most of us are in an excellent position when it comes to achieving big things. The reason we don’t isn’t that we’re not capable; it’s that there are one or two things that are holding us back. This could be debt, for example, which compromises our financial landscape and happiness, or it could be an addiction to a substance. If you’ve lived with these things hanging around your neck for a while, then you’ll know that your life would be much better without them. Alas, that can seem easier said than done. It’s important to remember that there is always help available. If you’re struggling with alcohol, then you can take part in a partial hospitalization program PHP. There are also many financial organizations that work with people in debt. No matter what your issue is, there’s always a way to put it behind you.

Out of Your Comfort Zone

Just as with challenges, it’s rare that we step out of our comfort zone too often. Indeed, once we leave college and we have steady work, it can feel like we’re always playing safe. But there’s a lot of value in stepping out of your comfort zone and trying new things from time to time. If you have a fear that you’d like to overcome, then work on it in the first few months of the year. This could be something like public speaking or visiting the gym, or whatever else. Once you do it, you’ll find that you were a lot more capable than you previously thought.

Choosing to be Happy

Finally, take a look at working on your happiness. We all have responsibilities and insecurities, but happiness is always within reach. So work on it -- it’s a battle that, once won, will change your life.
