A Midsummer Refresh Checklist

Monday, July 27, 2026

It's the middle of summer (well maybe a little past that) but it's a good time to do a midsummer refresh around your home so you can enjoy the remaining month or two of summer.  Here's a checklist based on what I do. Vacuum Outside Spaces
If you have a sunporch like me you should vacuum high and low to get rid of dust, pollen, and cobwebs.

Vacuum Indoor Spaces
Since you've been outside a lot you may have neglected indoor nooks and crannies so make sure to vacuum high and low and under furniture.  Don't forget to sweep the curtains!

Wash Outdoor Cushions
If you have outdoor furniture now is the time to launder the cushions so they are refreshed for the rest of the season and they're not as bad when you do an end of season cleanup.

Prune Flowers
Deadhead summer blooms to keep them blooming for the remainder of summer.

Wipe Down Surfaces
Wipe down the pollen and grime from the outdoor surfaces of your home like hard patio surfaces, tables, chairs, and anywhere else you can think of.

Blow Loose Debris
Get the leaf blower out and blow the loose debris from your outdoor living spaces and away from your house (then hit it with the mower).

These are just a few quick checklist items but I'm sure you can think of more!
