Getting Your Pooch Ready for Fall

There are always a few things I do each year around this time to get my dogs ready for Fall. Some of them are appropriate for the season while others are just things to do on a regular basis and I use the changing of the seasons as a regular basis.

1. Deep Clean Bedding
I usually wash their bedding once a month but I make sure to get every blanket, bed, and pillow that they use and wash them very thoroughly.  This is a great way to freshen up the house too.

2. Clean Bowls
You should ALWAYS clean your dog's bowls on a weekly basis but I even clean the mess tray that I keep under their bowls.

3. Stock up on Treats
Now is a good time to stock up on some healthy treats like Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Boost from Chewy!

4. Haircuts and Nail Trims
That's right - get it in before the weather gets chilly and cold.  Make sure they are trimmed with their nails and well groomed. I do my dogs myself but I still have to make sure that I take the time to do a real thorough job as the season's change.

What are some things you do for your pets in the Fall?

  2. Great reminder reading your post to wash all the beds this weekend. Gosh I really need to deep clean in general. We've been house/dog sitting across town for my mom while she's been away for three weeks and just finally moved back home last night. Our dogs will sleep for days now; it's exciting being in a house with five fluff balls. :)
