My Organized Work Tote + A Giveaway from Thirty One

In an ideal world, us women would only have to carry one bag.  It would contain all of our stuff for work, play, and survival.  Somehow it would magically weight NOTHING and it would never be too big and bulky.  It would be gorgeous and it wouldn't hurt your shoulders.

Too bad this ain't an ideal world.  And as much as I love handbags I really don't think it would be possible for me to be able to haul all of my personal things AND all of my work things. And most of you can probably relate.   But did you ever notice how annoyed and grumpy we seem when we are hauling all of our stuff?  It shouldn't be like that!! And that's why I always tell people to invest in a work bag that you love!










And that's just what I did! I fell in love with the Color Block Thirty One Pebble Tote with LEOPARD PRINT!! I was looking for something that was durable but still chic.  I obviously love leopard print and it's a great neutral pattern when you don't want your outfit or bags to clash.  The straps are the perfect length for me, too!



Seriously when I got this, I squealed with joy and my only fear was that it would be too tiny. 

But it is definitely not tiny, as all of my work items including my blogging binder, Emily Ley Planner, Pencil bag and books fit inside this gorgeous work tote!







I even got a Thirty One Zipper Clutch which although it would look awesome for an evening out, I wanted to use it for my markers, pens, sticky notes, and everything else I haul around for my blogging.

I have seen plain colored work totes before and while they did the trick at the time, I could never commit to them long term because I got bored with their look. That's why I tell everyone to find something with a pattern, even if it's only a small strip on the tote. 

Aside from the stylish look, this Thirty One bag is super functional with a zipper and slide in pocket inside.  There's even a little slot on the outside which is perfect for headphones or your cellphone. 

And yes, I know, I've totally said that I wasn't a big fan of Thirty One in the past because the totes I saw were made of thin material and I needed something heavy duty.  I had no idea they made gorgeous totes like this.  And the best part is, if I retire this as a work tote I can still use it as a handbag and it will definitely be big enough to haul all of my stuff around.

So what to look for in a work bag?
Color/Pattern - Make sure you LOVE the look of your bag so you're more likely to use it ENJOY using it.
Strap Length - It's always important to make sure you have a strap drop that fits over your shoulder even with a heavier jacket on so you aren't stuck holding a bag in your hands when you're trying to open doors, or find your keys in your handbag.
Interior Pockets - You always want at least one pocket to securely hold delicate items or even just so your phone.
