It seems that there are more illnesses than ever out there. From autoimmune deficiencies to food allergies, and of course, illnesses that relate to stress. The amount of stress we're all experiencing in the modern world is too much to cope with, which means that we have to incorporate a number of health practices. And this is where breathing could make a massive difference. Breathing is something that we don't always consider to be so beneficial to our health, predominantly because it's something we take for granted. But when you do it right, it can improve many aspects of your health. Let’s you some of the simple ways to incorporate better breathing into your life, and how it will help you.

It Helps Your Lungs

Naturally, one of the most obvious benefits of breathing properly is being able to take as much oxygen in as possible. Many people experience COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), which causes the diaphragm to be less effective. Doing breathing exercises in conjunction with reducing triggers for COPD can benefit your breathing. For example, people that smoke could benefit more from proper breathing when they are not inhaling smoke from cigarettes. Of course, it's also beneficial to cut out smoking and reduce nicotine intake by vaping. These days, there are many providers of vaping devices. For example, companies like Blinc make CCell vapes, but if you are experiencing any respiratory conditions like asthma, breathing properly will improve the elasticity of the lungs. If you lose lung elasticity, you are not able to breathe in as much oxygen as possible.

It Helps You Cope With Stress

Deep breathing has long been associated with practices like mindfulness and meditation and has been known to manage the symptoms of a number of conditions, including anxiety and depression, and even irritable bowel syndrome. A number of health conditions are associated with stress, and if you can learn to relax through proper breathing, this will make a significant difference to your quality of life. As it helps you relax, you are having less of the stress hormone cortisol surging through your body. Additionally, it will help you tolerate more intense practices, like high-intensity training., and subsequently, it can lower your chances of injuring your muscles or even wearing them out.

Some of the Best Breathing Practices

The great thing is that there is a number of practices out there. There's diaphragmatic breathing, when you breathe in through your nose and expand your abdomen. There is also numbered breathing (such as the 4-7-8 method), rib-stretch breathing, full tidal breathing, as well as a number of practices derived from pranayama breathing techniques, which in recent years have been more popularized by Wim Hof. Suffice to say, there is a lot of resources out there to help you start breathing properly.

And it's important to recognize that if you are stressed, or have issues with your breathing, learning to breathe properly will make a massive difference to your quality of life, health, and happiness.
