I am such a homebody that travelling doesn't really relax me and instead it makes me homesick. I've always been this way. So for that reason and because we wanted to put money into our house this past year (we did with our patio, basement and garage floors, and screened in porch), which we decided to just take a mini honeymoon near our 1 year wedding anniversary.
Over the weekend I attended a car event with the hubs and since he's into cars he's always attending all kinds of events in the Harrisburg area. This time it was Cars & Coffee at Faulkner Alfa Romeo Maserati of Mechanicsburg.
At this type of event, guests are invited to bring their car and share their enthusiasm for cars with other enthusiasts over coffee and breakfast. The Facebook invite even said that test drives in Maseratis and Alfa Romeos would be offered for those interested!
Food was provided by Helena's Chocolate Café & Creperie in Carlisle.
It was really cool to see all the nice cars that the dealership had as well as the cars driven by all of the attendees.
The lot is very well maintained and the staff were super friendly to all of us in attendance. There were all types of cars there for the event which was really neat to see and the breakfast spread was delicious!
So yea, I casually enjoyed macarons while shopping for a new car (Yea, right!) and taking pictures as if I knew what I was doing.

Last week I got to check out Macris Chocolate's in Lemoyne, PA. Elena Macris owns and operates the store using the same recipes her grandfather John had used in the 1920's. Macris is no stranger to the chocolate world. They use the highest quality ingredients available and even makes things from scratch including marshmallow, creams, meltaways, cordial cherries, fresh roasted nuts, and much much more.
Their decor was beautiful and very inspirational. Whether you want some chocolates for wedding favors or just for a regular gift, there are so many beautiful setups and displays.
For Harrisburg Social Media Club (the reason I was there) we got to try some different chocolate pairings with wine, sake, and beer.
There is SOOOOOOOO much chocolate to choose from. It's like a chocolate lovers dream to walk in and see the endless options. Customers can choose their own assortments from a bulk showcase that has over 100 varieties of chocolates. It was $22 and some odd cents for a pound! That's a great deal!
Of course if you are in a hurry or you can't decide, you can choose some already boxed chocolates or custom gift baskets. There are also a ton of corporate gift solutions and they have a complimentary corporate gift specialist to help you along the way.

They have so much space inside and everything is so clean and modern, even the decor. I will be returning to Macris Chocolates on a very regular basis. I'm hooked ever since I had my first chocolate covered potato chip from them!

Soooo on Sunday I met up with my blogger BFF Monica from Jersey Girl Texan Heart for the FIFTH time this year!! In case you missed anything from before, we've met up for dinner, twice actually, a vineyard, and an orchard!
We decided to meet up for dinner at Florence Italian Grill in Breinigsville, PA to do a cookie exchange and gift exchange. Breinigsville is around the halfway point between my house in Harrisburg and Monica's home in New Jersey.
Just like a typical blogger would do, we both already scoped out a cute shed in the back of the parking lot so we sneakily ran over to takesome photos including some ugly face photos since we are always sending UGLY selfies to each other.
We each ordered 2 different drinks, they were delicious. Oh, and the waitress we had was a doll. She was absolutely hilarious and so fun!
Monica made me some delicious fudge brownies with little candy cane bits sprinkles on top. DELISH!! And she got me the gorgeous leopard necklace in the photo and a Chihuahua ornament.
She also made these bracelets for me!!! You can get your own over at her etsy shop.
And something that meant A LOT to me was that she also got me this little dolphin keychain, to symbolize my support of saving whales and dolphins in captivity.
Soooo I can't wait to see her again in 2 months. I always have the best week after I see Monica. We are definitely Soul Sisters!

Ahh did I make you curious as to why in the world I would ever buy cheese on the side of the road? Well, let me correct the visual that you have right now....
THAT is what I meant. It's literally a little shed stand on this farm alongside a road in Middletown, PA. But let me back track...
I was at a wine tasting event at Vineyard at Hershey and I met Kendra.
Kendra was super friendly and was giving out samples of cheese...her own cheese. That's right, Jubilee Heritage Cheese is a family farm that makes their own cheese. Jubilee Heritage Cheese is state certified and all locally farmed.
I got to try some of their delicious cheese and spreads and I was sold!
Kendra gave me some simply instructions to get to her farm stand. So I will share them with you here:

Turn left onto Pecks Road (TMI Training Center)
They are the first farm on the left.
When I pulled up I saw a whole lot of those things above!!
There was plenty of parking in their little lot in front of the barn. You just make your way up to the red shed and open it to reveal the fridge!
Inside you will find all different cheeses and spreads labeled with prices.
This was our haul! I am sorry but $3.50 for delicious cheese? That's a better deal than the less-than-satisfactory cheeses in most supermarkets!!!
Their Cranberry Walnut Cheese Spread was AH-MAZING! Oh, and so was their Bacon Ranch.
Kendra and her family have a house right next to the barn so they can always come out to help you if you need it. There is a place to put your money inside the shed.
Oh and if you are wondering how or why I was playing with cows....
They were too cute!
