Our Yard Makeover | The Final Part

Thursday, April 28, 2016

So last year I showed you our front yard makeover and a few weeks back we did the side yard and added some things to the front in another makeover. Well now I'm happy to report that everything is complete because last weekend I finished the stones in the other side yard and the backyard.

Tour Our Home

Monday, July 27, 2015

It's finally here - our official first house tour! There will be many more posts about this and about all the changes we make but for now - here is the first look INSIDE our new house!

Living Room \\ When you first enter our home you will be in the Living Room.

Dining Room \\ Next you will run into the dining room.  I wanted to go with a Buddha theme here.

This wall transitions into the Kitchen...

Kitchen \\ My favorite place! Mostly because there is a skylight!

Screened-In Porch \\ Our dining room leads out to the screened-in porch.

If you look down our hallway you will find 4 doors.  Behind each door is...

The Office \\ Our office is amazing and even has in-wall storage.  This is also where the dog pee pads are and our pet rat, Hoodie.

Across from the office is..

Master Bathroom \\ Enjoy!

And then next is...

Master Bedroom \\ Which is basically where James has his clothing, dresser, and some decorations.

which has a small bathroom..

And then... the moment you have ALL been waiting for..... last but certainly not least....... the second bedroom/guest room/ my get ready room .... This room contains my closet, my dressers, a bed, and my vanity.

Stay tuned for a look at the basement, the garage, and the yard!

Our Front Yard Makeover

Tuesday, July 14, 2015

Today I have an amazing reveal for you guys! Our front yard makeover! When we moved into our home in mid June, there was a lot of shrubbery, plants, and weeds around the entire house.

So first we had to remove it...

Let me just tell you... removing hostas was a b*tch!!  Those roots are terrible.   And the crooked bush, it just had to go!! It's amazing how much it opened up the entire front yard and even makes the house look bigger.   I spent a few days chopping away at bushes and roots and removing tanbark mulch.

The next step was to level the ground and  put landscaping fabric down to block weeds. Then the fun began with the rocks.  I can't even tell you how many bags of rocks we had to use from Home Depot.  The reason we went with rocks was because it's less maintenance and it will be easy to get leaves out of it in the Fall.  We don't have to replace it or redo it every year, and I don't like gardening. I do, however like flowers in pots so I will definitely embrace that!

We will be replacing the hose spigot and then hooking up a hose and putting down a hose box so that's what the pavers lead to.

I put some solar lighting in to keep the house bright at night and next year we will bring the rocks around to the side of the house.   I am absolutely in love with the new look.  It took A LOT of energy, sweat, a few hundred bucks, and some adorable flower pots from Ross!

Stay tuned for a house tour and more projects!
