8 REALLY Interesting Things About Me

Wednesday, November 21, 2018

Whether you're a longtime reader or you're just tuning into my blog, there are some really interesting things you should know about me.  Some I've shared before and some I'm just now speaking about. From my dog being stolen to eating wings at a complete stranger's house before realizing it, you're bound to get a few laughs and a few shocking gasps out of these 8 interesting things about me.

1. I once accidentally attended a SuperBowl party at a stranger's house.
Yea, it's as awkward as it sounds!  This was back in high school.  I believe it was my junior year and my boyfriend and I were invited to a friend's house for a SuperBowl party.  We both knew the person, but my boyfriend was the one with the invite and directions.  Remember, this was long before GPS was an everyday thing.

So anyways, we get to our friend's house, and we ring the bell.  There are some 20 something guys and their parents in the kitchen.  The first thing they say is "oh he's in the shower, he'll be right out." So we wait.  They offer us food including some delicious wings and a veggie spread.  We start eating and sit on the couch feeling, somewhat strange.   Someone comes in the room and joins us and everyone is watching TV and then one of the guys says "So how do you guys know _______ (stranger's name)?"

It was then that we about shit our pants when we realized we don't know him and that we were definitely in the wrong house.  We apologized and left and I'm sure it was a hot topic at their house for a long time.

2. I have an irrational fear of vomit.
I can't look at it, smell it, hear it, or even know about it.  I don't care if it's from an animal but if it's human vomit, no thank you! If someone is sick in a toilet at work, I use a bathroom on a different floor for the entire week.

I think I know how it started too.  One time I was at Hershey Park and after I joyfully got off a ride I was walking down the winding exit ramp holding on to the wooden railing.  My friends began yelling at me about something but by the time I realized what it was, it was too late.  I had put my hand in vomit!!! I was horrified.  I went to the bathroom and scrubbed the best I good even under my acrylic nails.  I've never been the same since.

3. I hate amusement parks.
Another fear caused by Hershey Park. I never used to mind the scary roller coasters until one day I was getting on the Great Bear with a boyfriend.  As they put the locking harness thing down, that gets locked into place when they pull the lever, he jokingly pushed it out a little bit.  It was enough that I freaked out and the ride began.  I probably couldn't have fallen through but I was definitely slipping.  It was absolutely horrifying.  I will never go on a ride again. NOPE!

4. I was almost abducted as a child.
You can read about the time I almost got abducted here.  Basically, it was one of the scariest moments of my life and it didn't sink in until years later when I realized what the hell had almost happened to me.

5. My chihuahua was stolen in a home burglary.
I wrote about the time Pixie was stolen before. Worst day of my life followed by the best day of my life.  Speaking of that, take special care to safeguard your home from burglars.

6. My best friend EVER passed away in 2008.
When I was just 22, I lost my best friend to a heroin overdose.  It's been 10 years, which is crazy to me. You can read about when I lost my best friend here.

7. I am obsessed with ASMR.
If you don't know what that is, google it or search the hashtag on Instagram. You're welcome. Trigger warning though, if you don't like the sound of people eating, keep on scrolling.

8.  If you google Crazy Chihuahua Lady you'll find me.
Seriously, do it. Google "Crazy Chihuahua Lady" then go to images and scroll.  You'll see my crazy ass.

So there you have it....some things about me that may make you laugh or cry.

What's an interesting fact about you?
