Keeping A Healthy Lawn In 2020

Tuesday, January 7, 2020

The garden is an important part of the home - and one of the most central parts of any garden is the lawn. If you are struggling to keep your lawn in the best condition, you are not alone. This is something that a lot of people find to be the case, and the truth is that it takes a lot more than people might often assume. In particular, keeping it healthy and looking good means that you need to put a lot of work in, but as long as you know exactly what to do, it shouldn’t be too taxing anyway. In this article, we are going to discuss some of the things you can do to keep a healthy lawn this year, and so improve the overall state of your garden.

Trimming

One of the most important parts of looking after a lawn, and one which is going to take up the most time, is trimming it. You need to ensure that you keep your lawn trimmed regularly, and this is about much more than just keeping up with the Joneses. A trimmed lawn is also one which is going to be able to absorb more of the sunlight and water that it needs, and which will be able to spread its nutrients to all corners more efficiently and effectively. So make sure that you get out there and trim it - about every two weeks in high summer, once a month or so otherwise. It really will help to keep it healthy for good.

Watering

Many people don’t water their lawn at all, but merely wait for nature to do its thing and rain upon it. That might be fine if you happen to live in a wet climate, but in some parts of the world the only way to keep the lawn alive and well is to give it the water it needs, and that is something you are going to need to remember well. One of the most effective ways to water a lawn is to use a decent sprinkler system like Andy's Sprinkler. That way, you won’t have to worry about it - you can simply put it on timer and it will do its thing, even if you are away on holiday all summer or something. Keep it watered well, and it is going to be a much healthier lawn this year.

Fertilizing

As with many other plants, grass also needs food, and you might find that yours benefits from a little help along the way. Fertilizing is going to make a huge difference to your lawn, so you should make sure that you are thinking about using it regularly. By applying it once every six weeks or so during summer, you are ensuring that it has many more of the nutrients that it needs, and that is going to make an enormous difference to how healthy it is overall. That is absolutely an important thing to focus on in order to have the best lawn possible in 2020.
