Cleaning Up with Rug Doctor Review

Wednesday, August 14, 2013

Last month I got the chance to do a huge clean up at my parents’ house.  Not only have I been organizing and purging things like crazy, but I actually did clean and scrub a lot of their home.  This included the carpets, which are tough because they are berber and also because they hadn’t been cleaned in years!   When you have dogs and cats, it’s important to clean the carpets regularly, so this was going to be quite a task, which is why I used the RugDoctor!

You can rent a Rug Doctor carpet cleaning machine from a store in your area, and in my area it was from the Giant Foods Grocery Store.   I knew this was going to be quite a task so I wanted to allow myself time.  Instead of choosing a 1 day rental, I opted for 2 days.  The beautiful part was that it’s a great deal to get it for 2 days.  It’s $24.99 for 24 hours, but for 48 hours it came to $40 with tax, so basically the second day is super cheap!

The Rug Doctor is easy to lift and load into your car and the wheels are great for getting through the parking lot!   I thought I was going to have to do each room like 5 different times, but actually when it was all said and done, twice was plenty!  And it didn’t take forever to dry because the Rug Doctor has great suction to suck up all of the cleaning solution and water!

It was amazing to see even after one swipe when I first turned the Rug Doctor on, how dirty the carpet was and how much soil was lifted instantly.   It was easy to empty the dirty water tank and fill the machine with more water, because the bucket is sturdy and so is the handle.   The Rug Doctor was so easy to maneuver and I actually didn’t end up sore and exhausted at the end of the day, which was a great luxury for me!

I loved watching as the machine sucked up the pet stains and the dirt from foot traffic in the house.   Even the tough berber carpet ended up being so much brighter, lighter, and fresh!    The pet urine odors were removed from each room once the carpet dried and there was no more discoloration in the carpeting!!!   What a great way to keep up with the cleaning and maintenance of your home.   No need to go out and purchase a cleaning machine when you can rent the Rug Doctor a couple times a year and not have to worry about it in between!!!

Rug Doctor provided me with a free rental, however all opinions are my own.

  1. Although, I carry out vacuum cleaning of carpets at the regular intervals, as I want to keep my home tidy and hygienic for the kids, but I found it hard to remove the stains marks of tea and coffee on the sofa and carpet. Therefore, I had to call the professional carpet and upholstery cleaning services, and got the place really clean, without making too much of efforts.
