Quick Tips to Stay Energized Throughout the Day

Wednesday, July 8, 2020

Our lives are so jam packed busy this day and age so it's no surprise that there are days we find ourselves completely lacking energy.  I've found some little ways to make it through days like this and I'm going to share them with you today.

Take a Break

If you're working on something and you feel fatigued from it like you're losing your focus or you just wanna give up, stop and take a break.  Switch to a different task or go take a quick walk.  This allows your brain to reset a little and it gets you moving.  Sometimes you become so focused on something you will lose track of time.  This is why it's important to take a quick break every hour from whatever you're working on.  Even if it's just to respond to texts on your phone.

Eat a Health Snack
Eating healthy snacks throughout the day like fruit, veggies, and nuts can help you stay energized and give your brain some nutritious nourishment.  Avoid starchy snacks that can make you feel even more tired afterwards, and DON'T skip meals!

Drink Water
Dehydration can make you feel weak, exhausted, and hungry. So it's important to drink water all day.  I try to drink a glass of water every hour after work and I have noticed it gives me a lot of energy.  Especially if you're being physically active, you'll need to stay hydrated.

Take a Cat Nap
So if you didn't sleep well the night before and you have a 20 minute break at work and can head to your car, a cat nap is a good idea.  Every 15 minutes of a nap recharges you for an hour's worth of sleep according to many experts.  Set an alarm on your phone and don't go past the 15 minutes or you may feel groggier than before.

Call it a Day
If you are just not feeling it anymore and you're able to save the task at hand for another day, do it.  If you are planning to run errands and you just have no energy, move it to another day.  It's totally fine to honor your body's needs.

These are just a few of the ways I keep my energy flowing throughout the day no matter how I slept the night before.  What are your tips?
