My Weightloss Journey

So 2020...wow..... what a crazy time to be alive.  One of the things I decided to change this year was my health.  I definitely gained the quarantine 15 or whatever you want to call it, and come September I knew I needed to change things.

So starting in September, I decided I would burn more calories than I take in.  Because that's the weightloss calculation.  It takes 3,500 calories burned to lose 1 pound of fat.  So without trying any crazy diets or anything else, I decided I would take multiple walks every single day to burn more calories, and I would make sure I stayed within a certain deficit of calories each day in order to lose weight each week.

I ate breakfast, lunch, dinner, and 2 snacks in the evening.  I stopped drinking at all (empty calories!) and I drank lots of water each day.

I used my Fitbit to track EVERYTHING which made it so much easier for me.

In September alone I lost 10 pounds!!! Then of course we got our new puppy Daisy and that threw a kink into life so I lost weight much slower.

I'm not about 13 pounds down.  I am halfway to my goal.  I used to want to rush it but I realize slow and steady wins the race FOR SURE with this type of thing so I'm being patient and mindful along the way.

I'm posting this to keep myself accountable and will let you guys know my progress in the next few months.

Working from home has helped so much because I had more time and opportunity to take walks before and after work, over lunch, and during my 2 breaks.

So here's to a healthier 2021!
