Now I know that this may not be realistic for those of you already married and living with your significant other but I wrote this post in the hopes that those jsut starting out in their 20's will embrace the option of living on their own.
After I moved out of my parents house when I was 22 I lived completely alone for a few months. It wasn't planned that way originally but after a breakup I ended up with my apartment all to myself.
I remember the very moment I realized I had an apartment ALL TO MYSELF and looking back, I am SO GLAD I had that experience. So if you are ever in that same boat, TREASURE it and here are a few reasons why.
You Learn To Be Independent
You learn to fix things on your own, figure out who to call for help on your own, and you learn how badass you are. It's a great experience to help prepare you for the bigger things in life.
You Only Have to Worry About Yourself
No need to time out when you shower based on when your roommate gets out, and you don't have to clean up after anyone else but yourself. You may think it's weird to dance around when cleaning but when you have a place ALL to yourself, you'll embrace it...just watch!
You Feel Accomplished
Looking back, I feel like a total badass. I was able to live on my own, kill spiders, afford my lifestyle, and figure sh*t out ALL BY MYSELF!
You Realize How Much You Value ME TIME
Once you get married or live with a significant other you will quickly learn to cherish your alone time. I can't really even explain this in a quick and easy way but just TRUST me.
Have you ever lived on your own? What did you take away from it?
