If you are looking for a way to clean and sanitize your garbage disposal, and leave the kitchen smelling great at the same time, then freeze lemon slices in ice cube trays. Then, when your garbage disposal needs a little clean, pop three or four of the frozen lemon ice cubes out and down the disposal. It will leave the kitchen smelling fresh of lemon as they melt, and the natural cleaning properties of the lemon will help to sanitize the disposal.

Use hairspray to get stains off walls. If you have things like crayon stains, makeup stains, or other marks on the wall, hairspray is a really great way to get the stains off. Simply spray and then wipe. It can also be a good way to get something like a sharpie marker off the table or wall. If you are looking for other ideas, you could look at how to get sharpie off walls from The Art of Doing Stuff for some ideas and inspiration. You don’t need fancy cleaners when you’ve get certain items already in your home.

If you are looking for one simple way of cleaning the home, then you need to invest in a steam cleaner. A steam cleaner does as the name suggests, by cleaning with steam. It is such an efficient way of cleaning because it kills any bugs and germs through the heat of the steam. It is a handy device to have and is a great tool to use all over the home, but especially in kitchens and bathrooms.

Another item that you might have already at home is white vinegar. Not only can you use it in cooking, but it can be such a good way to clean the home. Kitchen countertops and sinks can really benefit from cleaning with white vinegar. Of course, there is a strong smell that comes with vinegar, so to reduce that, it can be a good idea to use a few drops of essential oils in with the vinegar, to reduce the smell. Lemon or peppermint have some amazing cleaning properties.

If you have an old pair of fluffy socks that you don’t really want to wear anymore, then they can be used to help clean around the home. Much like a Swiffer, they can be great to attract dirt and dust, so can be used as a duster, as well as for sweeping the floor with. Then they can be cleaned in the laundry and used again and again, rather than having to use paper cloths that you just throw out.
