Smooth Skin in 6 Simple Steps

How one achieves smooth skin can vary depending on a number of factors. A routine that makes your skin beautiful may not work for your best friend, for example. Everybody is different, everybody has a different skin type, and everybody reacts differently to products. That being said, there are 6 simple steps below that should help you to improve your skin texture and enjoy smoother, more beautiful skin. Take a look:

Step 1: Get Into The Habit of Exfoliating Regularly
Exfoliating your skin and getting rid of that dead top layer is a must. If you don’t, you might find that your skin looks dull, flaky, or both. It might not absorb the products that you’re putting on it either. You can use a physical scrub on your face/body, or you can choose to use a liquid exfoliator, which many people prefer for their face. You could also use a body brush, gloves, or another method that you like. Get into a good routine with it.

Step 2: Wash With Lukewarm Water
Washing in super hot water tends to strip the moisture from your skin. Don’t bathe in super hot water, and don’t shower in it either. Do your best to stick to lukewarm water and your skin will be grateful.



Step 3: Moisturise Your Skin Every Day
Make sure you’re moisturising your face and body every day. Moisturise your body after a bath or shower to lock in moisture and keep your skin from feeling dry and tight. Make sure your moisturise your face after cleansing, toning, and applying your serum if you use one. You should moisturise your skin even if you have an oily skin type, you just need to make sure you’re using the right kind of products for your skin.

Step 4: Try Medication Recommended By A Medical Professional
If you’re struggling with a skin issues such as acne or psoriasis, your self confidence may take a knock. Step 5: Nourish Your Skin From The Inside Out
You can also nourish your skin from the inside out. However, different things work for different people, so you’ll want to change one thing at a time and pay close attention to see if it works for you. Usually, a minimum of 2 weeks is required to see if something is working or not. Start by drinking a minimum of 2 litres of water per day. You may then want to cut out dairy to see if that helps.

Step 6: Use SPF
SPF should be applied every day, even if the sun isn’t shining. It’ll stop your skin from prematurely aging, protect it from the sun, and protect it from other environmental factors. Don’t underestimate the importance of SPF!
