EDC

An everyday carrying knife, or EDC knife, is one of the best tools for you to have around the home. It’s normally used for quick tasks, and it can save you from having to make a trip to your toolbox. It can be used to open packages and mail, and on top of this, you can also use it to strip down wire. You can tighten loose screws with it, scrape off dried glue, or even use it on woodworking projects. Some people even use them for slicing fruit and snacks when utensils aren’t directly available. You can also use it to cut zip ties or even for shaving wood, so you can light a fire in your fire pit more easily. Things like this can make a big difference to you, so having something like this to hand is one of the best things you could have.

Flashlight

You never really know when the power is going to go out in your home. If you want to help yourself here, then having a flashlight is a great idea. A flashlight not only allows you to navigate dark cupboards, but it also allows you to stay safe when walking the streets at night, and it also allows you to catch any disturbances that might be happening outside, which is crucial if you have pests. If you want to choose a flashlight, then make sure that it is LED, as this is a good way for you to make sure that the battery lasts for a very long time. You will also want to make sure that you keep spare batteries to one side, too.

Pen and Notebook

A basic pen and notebook set should not be overlooked. The one good thing about having a pen and notebook set is that it allows you to jot things down when you need to, and it also allows you to make convenient notes when you are on the phone. Although you may think that your mobile phone is useful for this, it’s not that great when you’re speaking on the phone, so try and make sure that you keep this in mind if you can.

Duct Tape

Another worthy investment would be things like duct tape. Duct tape is a very good thing to have around the home, and it has countless uses, especially when it comes to temporary repairs. You can also use it to tie things down if you are having an emergency, and on top of this, it can also be used to stop leaks. If you can keep things like this in mind, then it will help you a lot, and it will also come in good use if you are ever in a bind.
