Sort Your Dates

One of the first aspects of a wedding you will need to think about is the dates you want to get married. Every couple will have a rough idea of dates or time of year, it may mean something special to them. For example, you could stick to the same date you met or got engaged for your wedding date. This is an easy way to remember future anniversaries!

Once you have dates then you will need to take these to the chosen venue to see if they can match them. Popular venues can get quite booked up so you may have to wait a few years if you can’t be flexible.

Visit Various Venues

Now, as with dates, you may have an idea of which venue you want to say I DO. However, if this is not something you have thought of yet then you should get to doing some research. While there are many beautiful venues around, you need to look around and get a feel for them. You could also get married abroad if you are in the mood for a destination wedding. Give venues a call to see if you can get booked in to have a mooch around, see if they tick all of your boxes.

It is also helpful to write down any questions you might have for the venue, this could be what is included in the price and what meals are served on site. Something else to consider is whether you are going to have the after party at the same place as your ceremony.

Buy The Outfits (or rent them)

Finally, think about which outfits you are both going to wear. The bride will need to try on various dresses and the groom will need to find a suit. If you aren’t the typical couple then you may wish to change things up a bit, for instance wearing a tartan kilt rather than a full suit. This can look amazing, especially if you have Scottish roots.

If you don’t want to spend a fortune buying your wedding outfits then you could also look into how much it would be to rent them. You can choose a time frame from one day to a week, and then you just return them when you are done.

So, hopefully you found this article helpful and it gave you some great ideas and tips on how you can go about planning your wedding. Remember, there is no need to overthink everything and get stressed when dates or venues don’t go your way. The most important part of your wedding is marrying the person you love.
