My Favorite Netflix Series Roundup

Friday, February 28, 2020

Everyone knows I’m a sucker for a good Netflix series….well today I decided to round up some of my long time favorites. If you’re in a Netflix binge state of mind, check out these series for some juicy twists and pure entertainment.

Ozark

The Netflix original series Ozark is a serious guilty pleasure of mine. Jason Bateman is amazing as he plays a man who along with his wife and kids, finds himself in a money laundering scheme that goes very very wrong. So once he realizes the cartel is not going to be happy with him, he moves his family to…where else, the Ozarks. Along the way Marty and his family come across shady characters and just can’t seem to stay out of trouble. Once Marty’s wife and kids know what’s going on, everyone seems to be willing to help out. There are some crazy twists in each season and the end of each one leaves you soooo eager for the rest. It’s also fascinating to see Jason Bateman in a serious role where he can still share his humorous ways with us in bits and pieces. I have fallen in love with all of the characters of this series and I know you will too.

You

You is a crazy juicy Netflix original series about an unhinged obsessive stalker (on the inside), played by Penn Badgley, who comes off charming (for the most part) on the outside. Creepy Joe Goldberg just can’t seem to help himself when he becomes fixated on Guinevere Beck. The lengths he goes to in order to monitor her, control her, and eventually hide her is insane. The first season ended with a bang and the second season picked up with Joe under a new name and living in a new part of the country. Yet again, Joe finds himself obsessed with someone new.

Making a Murderer

Honestly, I don’t know how to really summarize this one because most of you probably have already heard about it but it will give you an eye opening look into how backwards some legal situations can be. If you already know about Steven Avery, I still recommend you watch this. It’s eye opening!

Stranger Things

This series will really make you feel like you’re in the 80’s as you watch some school age boys (and girls) navigate their way through life and some mysterious portal to the other side. Of course no one believes them at first when their friend disappears but with the help of some reliable adults, the gang embarks on a journey to save their friend.

Godless

I loved this series. It’s about a group of pioneer women in the 1880s in a small mining town. Most all of the men in the town have died. A handsome charming man comes into town and he’s on the run. The women are taking back their power and protecting him. There are some really awesome Western scenes with shootouts and everyone does an amazing acting job.

Seven Seconds

An enormous emotional and thrilling series about a white cop, a black boy, and a mom that wants justice. This is a very great series that is up with the times and current events we are dealing with in this country today. It starts out a little slow but then gets fast paced and exciting. I was almost devastated when it ended because I just wanted so much more.

Safe

Safe is based on the book by Harlan Coben and holy smokes this show was epic!! Michael C. Hall (Dexter) is determined to find his daughter after she goes missing. The series jumps to present time and the past so you can understand more of the struggles of the main character. This series also has the BIGGEST freakin twist EVER. It’s SOOOOO good if you want something to binge in a weekend of week.

What are some of your favorite Netflix series?
