This was a really good episode! Beware of spoiler alerts in this post! The first half of this episode was around Helen. She still has her hard ass attitude and her mother Margaret is no help at all. She's constantly criticizing Noah behind his back, and even to his face. Noah gets to take the kids for a week and shortly after they leave, Helen gets a call that Martin is in the hospital. He was having stomach pains again before he left.
In this episode we finally get to figure out what's wrong with him. They believed it was Crohn's Disease and they had to remove a portion of his intestine. He is petrified and both Noah and Helen stay by his side. In the waiting room, they begin arguing about how long he was suffering before someone finally took action. Fast forward to his bedside after his surgery, there's a tender moment between Helen and Noah where Helen finally breaks down and tells Noah he can have co-custody and that it's fine for the kids to be around Alison. Finally! I have been waiting for this moment for so long.
Then when Helen returns home she tells her mom to shut the eff up and leave and calls her out for always being so negative and hateful and jealous of Helen's marriage. Finally! Another moment I've been waiting for for weeks now!
The first half ends with Helen in her attorney's office discussing a tip that he received from an anonymous to Helen) source (which turns out to be Oscar from The Lobster Roll) that had information about the victim that would blow the case open.
It would cost $100,000 to get this person to give up the information. Helen said she'd pay for it. This makes me think that in the future they ARE together again.
Part 2 covers Noah. He heads to visit Alison at this yoga camp with a bunch of naked dudes walking around. Kind of bizarre but whatever.
Anyways, Noah and Alison eat dinner and she explains to him that she feels clear minded since she hasn't had sex with him for 6 weeks. She also seems pretty upset that he hasn't been around then. Shen then breaks it to him that she's read parts of his book and she hates it because it portrays her so poorly.
Noah tries to explain that if she had read the whole thing it would make sense and that in the end it's happy and they end up together. She tells him she doesn't want to leave because she feels happy at this place.
Noah meets Alison's friend Sebastian who is also a writer. He tells him that when he has writer's block he goes and gets Reiki. Noah goes in for Reiki from Athena, Alison's mom and while he does, he has this crazy vision of him running over Alison with his car the night of the accident with Scotty. He then goes and yanks Alison out of yoga class only to have sex with her in the woods against a tree. She then breaks the news that she's pregnant. Noah finished typing in part of his book ending and calls to tell his book agent that "He's Done!". Ugh what?!?!?!? I can't wait to see next week's episode!
