I love when I take walks through my neighborhood and I can look at each house and see the style and personality of the people that live inside. Each and every home is unique and different and that's what makes it so enjoyable. You can do several things to spruce up the look of your home on the outside whether you live in a townhome or a single family home.  Here are a few ways you can spruce up the front of your home and get compliments from your guests!

A Welcoming Welcome Mat
At first you may think my mat is NOT welcoming but it totally is because basically it tells you that I'm a dog lover, and it will surely make you giggle. The Dogs Welcome People Tolerated Mat from Entryways is totally my style.  A welcome mat is a must have not only to show off some personal style but also because it's practical.  This mat has non stick backing so it won't slide all over the place but it's also nice and sturdy so it actually brushes dirt off the bottom of your shoes.  This way, people won't be tracking all kinds of stuff in my home when they come over.  And since my pet peeve is mats that fade, I was super excited to know that this mat has fade resistant dyes so it should last a long time. It's super easy to clean too.  I just shake it off!

There are so many different welcome mats to choose from at Entryways that you can definitely find at least one to show off your personal style.  And if you can't choose JUST one, then you can choose a few and rotate them throughout the year, especially for the different holidays.

Shrubs or Flowers
Shrubs add some dimension to the front of your home.  I have little round bushes that line the entire front of my home and I always get compliments.  It's almost like they make a sort of border.  And then since I use stones as mulch, instead of planting flowers in the ground I use flower pots and plant bright beautiful annuals in the Spring and Summer and then plant some mums in the Fall.

Clearly Noted House Number
I love having my house number front and center so that people can easily find my house but also so people know if this is not the house they were looking for.  I always feel stressed when I'm driving down a street looking for a specific house and there are practically no numbers that are visible on each house.  I feel like I am being one of the creepy slow drivers that everyone keeps an eye on and wonders what you're doing in their hood!

Welcome Flags
I change my flags with the seasons.  It's a fun little tradition I have and I love how nice it looks with my seasonal décor and flowers.  Right now I have a winter one out and I'm just dying to officially change it to Spring!!

Clean and Safe Walk Way
If you have any sort of walk way that leads up to your front porch or front door you want to make sure it's safe and presentable.  Garden lights lining the walkway make it safer for guests at night and it's easier to not step in the dirt of mulch on either side of the path.  Shrubs should always be cut back so they aren't blocking the walkway.  And it's important to do a weekly sweep of debris on your walking path so that people aren't tracking that dirt into the house.

These are just a few simple ways that ANYONE can spruce up the front of their home and it doesn't cost a lot or take much effort.

And to help you spruce up YOUR home starting on the outside, I've teamed up with Entryways to bring you this giveaway! You can enter to win the adorable Dogs Welcome People Tolerated mat that I have!
