Why Is It So Hard To Get Your Perfect Body?

Monday, September 14, 2020

Our social media platforms promote body diversity. But even though we tell ourselves that everyone is beautiful regardless of size and shape, weight loss remains a popular topic among women. What is it with us girls? Why are we never satisfied with our body?

Ultimately, we can’t quite stop ourselves from comparing against others. You can never compare fairly, so it’s likely to cause unpleasant feelings. Additionally, a quick Google search can give you hundreds of different diets and workout programs. So, while we’ve got access to a variety of methods in a few seconds, we still struggle to achieve our dream body.

If weight loss is the appropriate answer, it’s essential to get the basics right. However, one word of advice: If you are considering reshaping your body, you should first reach out to your doctor to ensure that a weight loss plan is safe for you. It’s easy to fall into the trap of body dysmorphia, thinking yourself larger than you actually are. To know how to lose weight safely and effectively, you need to understand your weight gain triggers.

You have a slow metabolism

Your metabolism is the biochemical process during which your body transforms food into energy. It is an essential life-sustaining process that burns a set amount of calories. Someone with a fast metabolism will have no problem losing weight as their body burns many calories. On the other hand, someone who has a slow metabolism will burn fewer calories, which makes it tricky to lose weight. A slow metabolism will need additional support from specialists, including nutritionists, to get all the right nutrients for weight loss. A common mistake is to embark on a restricted diet that harms the metabolism even more.

Emotional eating is a coping mechanism

What’s your go-to response when you’re going through a lot of stress? If you soothe your mind with sweet snacks, your weight is likely to fluctuate as your stress levels vary. Emotional eating, however, is not something you can control with a healthy diet. Your diet focuses on getting the vitamins and nutrients your body needs. As you struggle with emotional obstacles, cravings can affect your diet results. Ideally, you want to put distance between yourself and your coping mechanism, using tools such as self hypnosis for weight loss and mindful meditation. You can’t lose weight without tackling your mental health trigger first.

You don’t find time to work out

Ah, work out plans can be such a pain. Making physical exercise a priority in your daily schedule is crucial to effective weight loss. However, it can feel tricky to make time when you’re busy. But, more often than not, if you can’t find the time, the problem lies with your choice of activity rather than your schedule. Indeed, once you’ve figured out which sport you enjoy playing, you will find it easier to make time for it. Why so? Because we always have plenty of time for the things we enjoy. If hitting the road for a morning run or heading to the gym is hard to schedule, why don’t you try something new?

In conclusion, losing weight is a hard process. But, more often than not, we make it harder for ourselves by failing to identify the reasons that hinder our efforts. In other words, be patient and kind to yourself if you are going to embark on a weight loss journey.
