There are so many things that go into running any kind of business that it's easy to let one or two things slip from your mind from time to time. However, anyone with any experience as a business owner will tell you that this simply isn't something that you can afford to let happen. Running a business is simply too high pressure of an environment to allow things to go unnoticed or neglected. One of the most common things that is often forgotten about is the maintenance of your business's equipment. If you or your employees have to travel a lot then you may end up using dedicated vehicles to do so. If you're not keeping those vehicles running smoothly then you're almost always going to end up in some pretty significant danger. With that in mind, here are some ways you can keep your work vehicles on the road.

Body damage

Small scratches on the body of your car might not seem like a particularly big deal but the problem is that small scratches lead to much larger ones, and big scratches lead to problems. You should make sure to take your car to a mechanic for scratch repair anytime one appears. Otherwise, you could end up with the body of the car exposed to the elements letting rust in. Not only that but a scratch can sometimes even lead to weakness in the body of the car overall.

The oil

A regular oil change is one of the most important jobs that you can do for a vehicle. Fortunately, it's also one of the easiest. Making sure that your work vehicles are well lubricated is pretty much essential to keep them running. The last thing you want is any kind of build up of friction to cause problems in the car's internal mechanics.

The filters

Clean air is crucial in order to make any car run properly. This because things like dust and dirt can wreak havoc with the delicate internal elements of your car's engine. It's a great idea to replace your air filter at regular intervals or at least invest in an
air filter cleaner, depending on what kind you use. Many air filters are made from paper which is pretty cheap but won't last all that long. Otherwise, you could spend a little more and invest in a washable foam filter which is likely to last for as long as possible while still providing a strong flow of clean air.

Take them for regular servicing

You might assume that you'll only really need to take a car for maintenance if something goes wrong. However, if that happens that you're going to be trying to run a business with greatly reduced resources. The best thing you can do is to get your work vehicles serviced regularly, even when things are fine. That way you don't run the risk of a car breaking down or worse.

This might not necessarily be something that
every startup has to deal with. However, a problem with work vehicles is the kind of issue that can bring even the best business to an absolute screeching halt. Be careful and make sure that you don't fall into the trap of assuming that everything is fine just because nothing completely disastrous has happened. There could always be issues under the surface that you haven't noticed. photo ScreenShot2014-06-25at102225PM_zps4fdda517.png
