5 Tips to Improve Your Overall Appearance

Thursday, June 18, 2020

It's easy to sometimes feel bombarded by over the top beauty tips and tricks, and it can equally get pretty exhausting. However, your physical appearance does matter a lot. That being said, this isn’t one of those shallow articles advising you to cake your face in makeup and wear the highest heels. One thing to know is that the simplest beauty tips go the longest way, so here are 5 tips to improve your overall appearance. So, at the end of the day, you’ll not only look great but feel great too.

1. Your hairstyle

There’s a saying that goes ‘your hair is your crown’. While this statement is probably a little dramatic, it does hold a bit of truth. Your hair frames your entire face, so if you are looking to improve your overall look, why not start with your hair? Not every hairstyle or length suits everyone, your face structure and length goes a long way to determine what fits.

To get ahead of this, you could do a bit of research on the types of hairstyles that suit a person with your face shape, or you could get some advice from a professional hairdresser. Either way, a beautiful hairstyle could definitely elevate your look.

2. Your skin

Did you know that the appearance of your skin gives outsiders an idea of the state of your health? When you eat healthily and include fruits, vegetables and water in your diet, your skin literally glows! To improve your skin, incorporate healthier meals in your diet. Even if you don’t like the taste of certain fruits or veggies. If that’s the case, you could always opt for juicing or buying a ready-made fruit or veggie juices from the supermarket. Also consider taking vitamin supplements, which can further help you achieve the skin of your dreams.

3. Teeth

Your teeth are the first thing people notice when you smile, and that’s why it’s important to take good care of them. Sometimes, brushing your teeth is just not enough. There are also a couple of other things you could incorporate into your routine, for example, flossing. It’s unfortunate that not a lot of people floss, as it has so many benefits including preventing bad breath and gum diseases.

More than that, it is also recommended that you visit your dentist once every few months for a routine clean. Another thing you may not have considered though is veneers. Veneers are a great way to enhance the aesthetic of your smile. The Instasmile veneers, for example, are clip-on and can improve your smile in an instant.

4. Get a manicure and pedicure

You should never neglect the appearance of your nails and feet. Sometimes, when people think about manicures and pedicures, they instantly assume it’s over the top, but it doesn’t have to be. A mani-pedi can be as simple as you want it to be, and the great thing about it is that you can even do it yourself from the comfort of your home.

Youtube is a good place to learn how to do a range of things on your own. Nevertheless, if you are willing to spend some money, you could always go to the nail salon for a more elevated experience.

5. Sleep

You could do every other thing on this list, but if you are not getting enough sleep, then it’ll all become redundant. Experts recommend that adults get between 6 to 8 hours of sleep every single night. Sleeping has its benefits on your appearance as well as other aspects of your life. It can make you look and feel more relaxed, and even make your skin look better when you wake up. Don’t underestimate the power of sleep, beauty sleep isn’t just something people use to get out of being productive, it's real.
