Today I’m following up on last week’s post about my new diet challenge to share a little more about why I chose this book, Always Eat After 7PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks – While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion and why I admire the author and chose this challenge.




The most attractive thing about this book and challenge is that it debunks popular diet myths with surprising science and offers an easy-to-follow diet to accelerate fat-burning. It also allows you to indulge in your most intense food cravings: Eating the majority of your calories at night. That was huge for me because that’s how I am anyways. I am so busy during the day and have all this energy and I eat my meals but don’t snack and don’t even eat big meals. So the fact that I can embrace my current lifestyle of when I eat in the evening, and do so without guilt, really made me interested. Also the fact that I won’t be depriving myself in the evening is a huge motivator to stick with this.

The author, Joel Marion is a bestselling author and a fitness expert and nutritionist. He debunks the myths underling traditional dieting and offers a simple and highly effective weight loss program. When interviewed, he was asked how difficult the Always eat After 7 PM plan is to follow. His answer was surprising. It’s not difficult, and that’s why he wrote the book. Of course, he admits that no diet is truly easy but it can be much more enjoyable and easier to stick with when you understand how it works because it caters to our bodies natural instincts. Joel says he was inspired to write the book because he wanted to expose 2 huge misconceptions about dieting – that you can’t eat late at night or before bed and you can’t eat large portions that satisfy your natural instinct. His book was written to solve these problems by providing an evidence-based, enjoyable approach to dieting that can be used by any person to quickly achieve their weight loss goals. The most shocking statement he made was that his most surprising discovery when he researched the scientific data for this diet was that almost everything his college education and certifications taught him was NOT grounded in published scientific research.

Again, I can really relate to the author and I especially loved when in the book he said “The key to planning the perfect lunch and dinner on this program is Portion Volumization. With this technique, you’ll seek out nutrient-dense, delicious foods that fill you up and give you a “free pass” to eat 5 to 10 times the amount of food you’d normally eat, while consuming considerably fewer calories.”
